Why The Message – We Don’t Want God We’re Gay

We Don’t Want God We’re Gay was a message I posted on June 28, 2016. Why that message? Because those were the exact words out of a young woman’s mouth. While witnessing downtown on a Friday night before a gay pride event, I talked to a group of gay people who were really there just to try to aggravate the open-air preaching. But they didn’t aggravate us. The Gospel truth went forth and how they really felt came out. They told me that they didn’t want to hear about God the next day at gay pride. These gay people wanted to celebrate in peace and didn’t want a guilty conscience. They didn’t want to be reminded that their sinful lifestyle is an abomination against God. So they blatantly and flat out said, “We don’t want God we’re gay.”

At least they were honest about it nearly four years ago. The problem nowadays is that many lesbians, gays, transgenders and others now claim they can be a Christian and be gay. Instead of saying we don’t want God we’re gay, they somehow think that after thousands of years of God holding to His biblical position, He suddenly relented because society now accepts homosexuality. But God does not change (Malachi 3:6). So those who claim to be Christians and gay are going against Almighty God. Just as bad, are the professing Christians who are “loving” homosexuals by affirming them in their sin and even encouraging them. Frankly, I don’t see how you can truly be a Christian and support homosexuality when the Bible clearly states that it is an abomination to God.

True Christians Love Gay People

This doesn’t mean that true Christians don’t love gay people, we do. Instead of “loving” them in their sin and watching them continue on the broad road to destruction, true followers of Christ love gays and lesbians enough to share the glorious Gospel with them. We warn people, all people to flee from the wrath to come. For all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). There are none righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10). The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), no matter what their sin of choice is.

So whether you are a lesbian, gay person, bi-sexual, transgender, fornicator, adulterer, idolater, drunkard or thief, I plead with you to repent of your sins and turn to Christ. Surrender your life fully and completely to the Lord Jesus. He is Lord of all and He will judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). Do not die in your sins. Repent and believe the Gospel. Put your trust in Christ Jesus for your salvation and be saved. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). True followers of Christ turn from their sins, they don’t flaunt and celebrate their rebellion against God. A saved life is a changed life.
