It’s a warm night, you get to your witnessing spot downtown and you look around and see people milling around and you think it’s going to be a good night lifting up the name of Jesus. Then you notice a piece of paper taped the sidewalk, curious, you walk over and read it. The note starts off “Dear Moron Preacher.” The person with very nice penmanship basically suggested that I move to another corner because other people need to hear the Gospel too. They really weren’t concerned about others (nor their own soul), they just didn’t want to hear any more messages. Last Friday Jeff was open-air preaching and he engaged several people in conversation as they walked by. One question he liked to ask was: Where will you go if you die tonight? One guy said that he’d probably go to Hell and he thinks it will be a wonderful place. (Obviously he hasn’t read how the Bible describes Hell. There are no parties there, just pain and suffering. Weeping and gnashing of teeth). But when Jeff asked a couple of young women where they think they will go, both answered “I don’t know.” [Read more…]
A couple were standing a few feet away from me while I was getting ready to open-air preach and I was waiting on Thomas. The woman wanted to go back and get her jacket. He said their friends were about to reach them, so she didn’t have time to get it. Then he took off his jacket and gave it to her. She kept saying no, but then she relented. I had some Are You A Good Person Tracts so I walked over to the guy and said that was a good deed that you did giving her your jacket, but are you a good person? To which he replied that he didn’t know about that. Then I handed him the tract and suggested that he check it out and see if he is a good person. A guy contacted me this week through Seek and Save the Lost, chastising me for being judgmental and hateful. He continued, letting me know his strong opinions which included the opinion that Jesus was unjudging. So I ask you: was Jesus unjudging? Was Jesus non-judgmental? [Read more…]

Earlier in the week it looked like I was going to be witnessing downtown Friday night by myself and I must confess I was a little bitter about it. God convicted me over my bitterness, I prayed for His forgiveness and received it. God was going to be glorified even if all that happened were a few tracts handed out. But God had greater plans and it turned out to be a wonderful blessed night of street witnessing. [Read more…]
Do Atheists need a new name? I run into people all the time who claim that they are atheists and they vehemently say, “God is not real” or “there is no God.” They are very adamant in their stance. Atheists do not believe that God exists. The original meaning in the Greek is without God. But atheists aren’t neutral to this God they say doesn’t exist. No they are very much opposed to the great Creator God. The One who is all-knowing, all-powerful and ever present. Since they hate the One True God, do atheists need a new name? [Read more…]
On Wednesday at Missouri State University, I had two for me and two against me but that doesn’t make it even. Witnessing isn’t like a tug of war.
