Nearly Deserted Campus
Ministry Update January 13, 2018
Missouri State University is currently offering Winter Intersession classes. These are typically one to three week classes offered during Christmas break and they must be intense. It is my understanding that the students have to cover the same amount of material that they would in a regular semester class. It’s been several years since I’ve witnessed at MSU during one of these intersession class times and I found the campus nearly deserted.
You can see from the photo of my normal witnessing spot just how sparse it was. So I walked around the campus handing out Gospel tracts and prayer walked as I went along. Then I walked back to my normal spot and handed out tracts to students coming out of the library. When it was time to leave, I still handed out a few more tracts on the way back to my car. Overall, I gave out a little over 25 tracts. But I felt compelled to go the campus this last week, so may God bless the tracts and reach some of the lost souls that received them.
Even More Deserted Downtown
Friday night was barely above freezing and it rained the whole time I was there. Weather Underground predicted only 2/100’s of an inch of rain, but they missed this forecast. Water was running down some of the streets, so it rained a lot more than they predicted. Again, there were very few people out and about, so after handing out a few tracts, I prayer walked around a couple of blocks downtown. Then I came back to the normal spot and handed out some more tracts. Some weeks are mountain top experiences and other times are more like walking through the valleys. But God’s truth goes forth either way and may the Lord be glorified above all. May God also bless the tracts that were received Friday night.
