Lately during my normal Bible reading, I’ve been reading in the book of Leviticus. Yes, this is one of those books where a lot of people start out strong reading the Bible through Genesis and Exodus, but they get bogged down in Leviticus. This book names several sins and the sacrifices the Israelites were to offer for those sins, to atone for their sins. Pastor Joshua, Kelly, Conner and I had a great time witnessing Friday night where there were some interesting conversations. All four of us did open-air preaching. Gospel tracts and New Testaments were handed out. We always have a great time visiting. Kentucky Derby Outreach 2019

Pure Hatred

Thirty-one evangelists from around the country participated in this year’s Kentucky Derby Outreach with Sports Fan Outreach International. Yes, it rained again, both days. But the weather was warmer than last year and we actually had periods through both days where it wasn’t raining. There was a lot of open-air preaching during the 12 ½ to 13 hour days Friday and Saturday as well as hundreds of Gospel tracts that went out, New Testaments were handed out as well as one to one conversations. There were many positives to this year’s outreach. But what struck me the most Saturday night (before and after the actual Derby race) was the pure hatred. Over one hundred fifty thousand people are here at Churchill Downs for The Kentucky Derby to watch one of the greatest races in sports. Yes, people come here to watch the horses run, but they also come here to get drunk, lust, covet and gamble. For those who don’t know any better, all of these things are a sin. No Excuses

There will be no excuses on Judgment Day and make no mistake, there is a day of judgment that is coming. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment (Hebrews 9:27). A day of reckoning is coming for all unrepentant sinners and unbelief, ignorance, outright rejection or rebellion will be no excuse. Is Everyone Really Awesome?

Kelly, Conner and I witnessed downtown Friday night and the couple with signs were back. Just like before, they held signs that read, “You Are Wonderful” and “You Are Awesome.” Then on the ground between them, they had a sign that said, “Acceptance Not Judgment.” Since that sign was obviously directed toward us, I wonder if that means we aren’t awesome after all? As people walked past, the couple yelled, “You Are Wonderful” and “You Are Awesome.” Guess what? Most people that they said this to, repeated the same words back to the couple. I’m sure they went home feeling really good about themselves. But is true? Are you awesome? Are you wonderful? Is everyone really awesome? [Read more…]

Ungrateful Unholy

According to the 2018 General Society Survey, 23.1% of Americans claim no religion. That’s slightly higher than the number that claim to be Catholic (23%) and the number of evangelicals (22.5%). But these statics really shouldn’t surprise us, at least not those of us who read and believe the Bible. Once Saved Always Saved

Friday night I witnessed downtown where I open-air preached and handed out some New Testaments. Had a couple of drive by mockers. One said somethings incoherently, but the other one yelled, “Ah, go home.” To which I just said, “God bless you.” While I was bringing the message, a couple came over and stood near me. After I finished up, I went over and talked to them. They said that they don’t go to any church because they don’t believe in once saved always saved. [Read more…]

Six of us participated in the What Time Is Purple? Outreach at Missouri State University on Wednesday and we praise God that 1,174 students took the booklets. The weather was great and I’m very thankful that Carla, Connie, Sebastian, Vinton and Jerry joined me for the outreach. We pray that God will use the booklets to reach unbelievers and also to encourage believing students in refuting evolution. [Read more…]
