Are you afraid of the dark? I admit that I was when I was a little kid. All of my kids also had night lights when they were younger because they too were afraid of the dark. The polite mocker at Missouri State University that typically just smiles as he walks by, stopped and said, “Can I ask you a question?” I said sure. Then he said, “Why are you doing this if every knee will bow?” Then he turned and walked away. Again, he generally just smiles or laughs as he walks by me. Many times when we are out here witnessing at St. Louis and Jefferson and we see someone driving the wrong way down Jefferson. It happened last Friday. Friday night when I first got out of my, car I could hear Jeff preaching. Jeff and Taylor came up from Arkansas to witness and they started early. As I started walking around my car, five women asked if I would take their picture by the Springfield sign on the Discovery Center building. I said sure, took the picture and told them I had something for them and gave them all New Testaments. Then one girl asked if I witness at MSU and I told her yes. She said, “I thought I recognized you.” Then I made my way to where Jeff was preaching and a man was heckling him from across the street. The man was the first of many that said he would go to Hell. One man toward the end of the night said, “I will go straight to Hell…” [Read more…]

Ministry Update March 17, 2019

A friend suggested that we witness downtown Saturday night instead of Friday night. Unfortunately, my friend couldn’t make it, but Brian and I were able to hand out New Testaments and Gospel tracts. We were anticipating large crowds since Kip Moore was performing at the Gillioz Theatre at 8 pm and the St. Patricks’ Day pub crawl was scheduled to start at 9 pm. But the crowd was much smaller than we thought it would be. Even though it was a much slower night than we expected, there were some conversations. The best conversation was with a group of four young people and one of them said, “Prove God is real.” [Read more…]

Encouraging Lunch Hour

Some days street witnessing are tough and other times are a pure joy. Wednesday at Missouri State University was a very encouraging lunch hour. Thank God, 25 students took New Testaments. That would have been encouraging enough on its own, but while I was bringing a message, one student just said “Hello” and he seemed very sincere. Christians are now considered haters and bigots. In fact, in many states, Christians are losing their jobs and some have even gone to jail for standing for their faith. I ended the time witnessing at Missouri State University on Wednesday by walking backwards. But praise God, 20 students graciously received New Testaments before I brought a message. One gentleman that said he didn’t need a New Testament was a Navy veteran. I thanked him for his service and he said it was his pleasure. Then he said that he mainly just read reports.
