Was Jesus Just a Good Man?

N.Y. police officer DePrimo gives homeless man a pair of boots

Recently while street witnessing on a Friday night, two different people told me similar things. One said that she believed Jesus was a good person and the other (an agnostic) said that he thought the Bible had some good things in it for us to live our lives by, but he didn’t believe in God. Bill O’Reilly (the writer of the blasphemous book – Killing Jesus) told an interviewer that Jesus’ last words on the cross were not “It is finished.” The interviewer asked Mr. O’Reilly if he picks and chooses what he believes in the Bible. Mr. O’Reilly said yes. She wisely asked him if that didn’t make what he believed the gospel of Bill O’Reilly? [Read more…]

Natural Gas Explosion

Natural Gas Explosion Kansas City MO March 2013

Recently four different professing Christians came up to us after open-air preaching on the square in downtown Springfield, MO and told us that we were doing it wrong. They all said that we weren’t loving people to Jesus. They all said that we were pushing people farther away from God. A week before that an agnostic at Missouri State University told me the same thing. He said that what I was doing was wrong. (Does anyone else see the irony of a non-believer telling a believer that he’s witnessing for Jesus incorrectly?) [Read more…]

Springfield Police Officers Arrest Street Preacher and Two Other Christians

3 Christians Robbed Handcuffed and Arrested by Police blog pic

3 Christians handcuffed and arrested by police. Yes, it happened again. Springfield Police Officers arrest street preacher and this time two other Christians as well. This is the second time they’ve confiscated this preacher’s amplifier and equipment. They still haven’t returned his first set of equipment, even though the city attorney admitted the first time around that the police violated his first and fourth amendments as well as the fact that they broke state law too. There is Only One True Gospel

Gal 1_9 website pic

There are many false religions in the world today. You can quickly tell the counterfeits from the one true Gospel and there is only one true Gospel. All world religions focus on man working his way to Heaven or man trying to become God. Everyone following a cult is busy trying to earn their way to Heaven, which is impossible (Ephesians 2:8-9) or they are trying to become God or they have put themselves in the place of God – such as atheists. By saying there is no God, atheists are foolishly deeming themselves in the place of almighty God. [Read more…]

Virgil and Faye Starnes

When I was a kid, I loved to stay at my grandpa and grandma’s house way out in the country. My grandmother was a great cook. She’d cook the old-fashioned greasy food that I still love, but my wife won’t cook for me. I’d spend the night and wake up the next morning to the smell of eggs and bacon or homemade biscuits and gravy. It makes me hungry just thinking about it. But the icing on the cake was that they’d let me drink a Mountain Dew with breakfast! I could never get away with drinking soda at breakfast at home, so that was a real treat for me. [Read more…]

Who Crucified Jesus Christ?

September 10, 2013 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Jesus on the Cross (1)

Before we get into who crucified Jesus, let’s look at who Jesus is. Jesus is the Son of God. He lives in Heaven and He always has been and always will be. He was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit a little over 2,000 years ago. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He never sinned in His thoughts, words or deeds. He did what you and I could never do and that is He kept the 10 Commandments to the letter of the Law and in the spirit of the Law. [Read more…]

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin – Romans 14:23b. Have you ever really thought about this verse? Whatsoever – that includes everything that we do in our thoughts, words and actions that is not of faith, is sin. This is a very sobering Bible verse. Whatsoever… [Read more…]

Missouri State University, Springfield, MO

I don’t believe that I’ve ever mentioned this before, but the majority of blog posts on this site are actually messages that were proclaimed in the open air. I typically reword them a little bit to fit the written format, but the basic message is the same. This time I thought I’d post the exact message that was given at Missouri State University on August 21, 2013. [Read more…]

People Crossing a Busy Street

What are you doing right now? You may think, well that’s a stupid question because I’m reading this blog. But are you really paying attention? Are you really concentrating on this message? Or are you listening to the radio or talking to or listening to a friend or loved one at the same time? Or maybe you are thinking about what you are going to do later on tonight. [Read more…]

Are You a Tiptoe Christian?

(Christian: Do you tiptoe back and forth across the line to your old sins?)

Christian, before you were soundly saved, you lived for the pleasures of the flesh. Then when God opened your spiritually blind eyes, when He unhardened your hard heart, He granted you repentance toward Himself and faith toward Jesus Christ our Lord. When God saved you, then you were at the starting line. (This post is for Christians. If you are not a follower of Jesus, please go to My Testimony or Ten Commandments). [Read more…]
