I’m Catholic

Rich, Aaron and I joined some other evangelists from around the country the first of May and we witnessed at the Kentucky Derby. Many people went into Churchill Downs drunk and many, many more left the place totally drunk. But when we tried to get them to see their sinfulness and God’s Holiness we would ask them if they had been drinking and instead of admitting it, a lot of them said, no I’m Catholic.  [Read more…]

Three of us from Springfield and four evangelists from Rolla, Missouri went to the Kentucky Derby Outreach 2015 the first weekend in May and we had a great time lifting up the name of Jesus at the derby. There were 31 evangelists there from all around the country who participated in the Sports Fan Outreach International event and it was a real joy and blessing to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6) with our fellow laborers.  [Read more…]

It was a real honor to street witness outside Churchill Downs last weekend along with 30 other evangelists from around the country. There were over 170,000 people there in attendance for the Kentucky Derby. In addition to street preaching and talking to people one to one, we also handed out tracts. Even though many tracts were handed out, unfortunately the majority of people said “no thank you.”  [Read more…]

Partial Obedience

Disobedience 1 website pic
Maybe your boss, a loved one or a friend has asked you to do something and you only partially completed the task. Are you guilty of ever doing this? Or have you ever asked someone to do a task for you and they only finished the job half halfway? If so, how did that make you feel?

I’m asking these questions because the message tonight is about partial obedience and I’d like to read 1 Samuel 15:1-28: Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. 2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.  [Read more…]

I Just Want My Friend To Be Happy

Lesbians Holding Hands
Recently we were out witnessing and a teenager asked me how she should witness to her gay friend. I suggested that she could go to 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and have her friend read those Bible verses. I also suggested that instead of using that approach, she could go to Revelation 21:8 and tell her friend that Jesus said that all liars (that is all unrepentant sinners) will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, because if God convicts her friend over lying, then He can also convict her friend over sexual immorality.  [Read more…]

Did I Sin Today?

We were downtown witnessing last Friday night and I was talking to a man who professed to be a Christian. He kept asking if Hitler was in Hell and if Joseph Smith was in Hell. When I said yes they were, he said that I couldn’t know for sure and he accused me of being judgmental. So I suggested that he shouldn’t worry about Hitler and Smith, but that he should worry about where he would spend eternity. The man assured me that he was a Christian and he was sure of where he was going. This same man said the F-word about 15 or 20 times in just a matter of minutes. He admitted to watching pornography and committing other sins. But like so many people, he said that he was a Christian, even though he was still bound to sin. After he accused me of being judgmental again, he asked me if I had sinned that day.  [Read more…]

Jesus loves you. Jesus loves me. Jesus loves you and me. Jesus loves sinners. You and I are sinners and yes, Jesus loves us. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). There is no greater love than the love of Jesus. He suffered and died on the cross for guilty sinners like you and me. There’s no way around it; Jesus loves sinners.  [Read more…]

America could be described as a modern day land flowing with milk and honey. Our great nation has been blessed by God for over 200 years. But we are no longer great and we are no longer blessed like we once were. So is America under God’s judgment?  [Read more…]

Love is a Commitment

wedding rings
Love is a commitment; it’s a long term commitment. It’s not temporary. It’s not lusting; it’s not a fad and it’s not a passing moment. Love is a genuine commitment. I know a couple who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. Do you think they had times where they didn’t agree? Do think they experienced some frustrations with each other over those years? Do you think they had times where they thought it just wasn’t worth it anymore? Do think there were times where one or both of them wondered “what if I had married someone else?”  [Read more…]

Are Your Words Powerful?

Seek and Save the Lost The Power of Words website pic

Our words are important. We can use them to build people up or to tear them down. We can say something that’s really important and profound or we can babble on about useless things that nobody needs to hear. Are your words powerful? Do people listen when you speak? Do they really hear you? Do they understand what you really mean? Do they get it and are you saying things that are beneficial to them?  [Read more…]
