Unbuckling the Bible Belt

Before I start tonight, I want to point out that I’m going to be talking about politics and two candidates in particular, but this message is not really about politics. This message is about the Bible Belt and more importantly it is about you; where you will spend eternity and there are only two places: either Heaven or Hell. We were witnessing downtown one Friday night and toward the end of the night a really foul-mouthed atheist was cussing up a storm. We tried to engage him in conversation, but he didn’t want to talk. So I asked him about his t-shirt that he was wearing. It had the outline of the state of Missouri on it as well as marijuana in the picture and it said “Unbuckling the Bible Belt.”  [Read more…]

My wife and I used to go antiquing all the time or as we say in the Ozarks – antiquin “anteken.” I used to collect rock albums and my wife used to collect millafore boxes and picture frames. It was fun when I found an album that I’d tried to find for a long time and I really loved it when I found one that was priced right. The millafore boxes that my wife collected were really hard to find. So it was exciting just to see one, no matter how much they were asking for it, but we’d get really excited if we found what she collected in the price range that we could afford.  [Read more…]

I was going to call this update No!; but I decided on Ultimate No after witnessing downtown Friday night. Before I talk about Friday night though, I’ll start off telling you about witnessing at MSU last Wednesday. I started off handing out tracts that a friend gave me that he bought at the Shepherds Conference. I had 200 of them with me, but I only gave out 100. Many students said no thank you when I offered them a tract and others just said no.  [Read more…]

If Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior, then please don’t skip over this message. My friends and I that go out street witnessing are heartbroken tonight. We just found out that an atheist that used to mock us, died last year. This young man would stand next to us holding a handmade cardboard sign saying f this guy with an arrow pointing toward us. He would cuss us out and laugh. People walking by would laugh and many of them would stop and take selfies with him while he mocked us.

A Chance At Life

I attended the funeral of a friend of mine this week. He was a Christian man who was 72 years old. He had a loving wife, five sons, 11 grandchildren and two great grandkids. The life expectancy for a man in America is 78 years old. My friend didn’t quite make that, but he had a pretty long life and at least he had a chance at life.

Over 3,000 babies are murdered in the womb every day in the United States. Over 3,000! Over 3,000 precious little babies have been viciously murdered. Killed before they ever saw the light of day and if Hilary Clinton gets elected as President , then some of the babies may see the light of day and then be brutally murdered. You see, she is in favor of partial birth abortions. She thinks that it is fair game to kill a baby at all stages of development, even after birth and she thinks that all of us should pay for it. She’s alright with 58 million babies (and counting) never getting a chance at life.  [Read more…]

Al Gore has gotten rich from scaring people about global warming. He was worth less than 2 million dollars when he ran for president in 2000 and now he’s worth over 175 million dollars. Can you really trust a guy to tell the truth when he’s in it for the money? Many people believe in global warming. In July of last year the researchers trying to prove global warming had to abandon their plans because the ship they were on was an ice breaker ship and the Canadian government needed the ship to  break the ice so supply ships could get through shipping lanes. In other words there was so much ice in the Arctic (the exact opposite of the effects you would expect with global warming) that they had to break up the ice in order for ships to travel. The Arctic ice cap increased by one third of its size in 2013.  [Read more…]
