Do The Scriptures Offend You?

Do The Scriptures Offend You

Do The Scriptures Offend You?

Do the Scriptures offend you? Does God’s Holy word offend you? Do you hate to hear Bible verses quoted? The reason I’m asking these questions is because Bible verses offended several people last week.  Are you one of those who get offended when Bible verses are proclaimed in public? Do the Scriptures offend you?  [Read more…]

Why Preach To An Empty Square?

Aaron Preaching April 29 2016

Ministry Update May 1, 2016

Why Preach To An Empty Square?

Why preach to an empty square on a rainy Friday night in downtown Springfield, MO? 1. Because God is glorified when the precious name of Jesus is lifted up; whether many hear or just a few. 2. God is sovereign and His word does not return void. So God was praised last Friday night through the singing and preaching on the square, even though it was seemingly empty.  Because of God’s sovereignty, He caused Casey who happened to be walking by as Aaron was preaching and at that exact moment Aaron mentioned that the police shouldn’t violate our first amendment rights and that caused Casey to come over and talk to us.

Jesus Saves!

Jesus Saves!

We get accused of being harsh and judgmental when we are street preaching, so tonight I thought I’d say: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Jesus saves! We have heard the joyful sound:  Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Praise God, this is good news. It’s worth repeating. Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Jesus saves!  [Read more…]

Another Ticket

Another Ticket!

Ministry Update April 24, 2016

Another ticket! No, I’m not joking. Same old, same old. Three men preach using the same amplifier, but Aaron was the only one who received a ticket. Aaron showed the police officer and the acting Sergeant the agreement that he has with the city, but they totally ignored it. I pointed out to the first officer that it wasn’t fair that Aaron was being ticketed when three of us were preaching so he took my license, but in the end he handed it back to me and only ticketed Aaron. This is blatant harassment and it is wrong.  [Read more…]

Will You Split Hell Wide Open?

Will you split Hell wide open after you die? I know this isn’t a subtle message tonight, but I want you to really think about where you will spend eternity. I want you to think about where your spirit will go the second after you die. Will you go to Heaven? Or will you split Hell wide open?  [Read more…]

Glowrage

Ministry Update April 17, 2016

For those of you who are old like me, you probably don’t know what a glowrage is. We were witnessing in downtown Springfield, MO on April 15, 2016 across from the Outland Ballroom. The crowd was lined up down the block and around the corner. We noticed that several people were dressed in white t-shirts and white shorts. So I googled it when I got home Friday night and found out that at a glowrage the young people dance around while music is being played and people on the stage stand there and throw paint on the crowd.  [Read more…]

Clean Hands and a Pure Heart

Clean Hands and a Pure Heart

Psalm 24:3-4 says: Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. My question for you tonight is do you have clean hands and a pure heart?  [Read more…]

Hallelujah Good Time!

Ministry Update April 10, 2016

Oh we had a hallelujah good time witnessing in downtown Springfield, MO on Friday night April 8, 2016. I thought later that night that the people going into the bars, the ones searching for drugs or looking for immoral sexual relationships may very well die some day in their sins and go to Hell, but they will get there by going around us, by ignoring God’s pleas through  us, that they repent and believe the Gospel. Whether they receive or reject Jesus, the truth went forth and God was glorified and the whole time, we had a hallelujah good time!  [Read more…]

Forsaken

Many of us celebrated Resurrection Sunday last weekend or Easter Sunday as a lot of people call it. My pastor preached on the risen Savior. Jesus has risen indeed. He’s alive! I know that I will live forever because my Redeemer lives. But why did He rise from the dead?  [Read more…]

Still Forsaking Jesus

Still Forsaking Jesus

Friday night was Art Walk and there was a concert on the square. We started off just a block South of the square, but the band was loud and it wasn’t very crowded, so Aaron suggested that we move down to South and Walnut. As we were finishing singing a bicyclist was upset with our singing hymns (you can always tell it’s going to be a crazy night when people get riled up just over singing hymns). He kept telling us to quit singing, so I jumped up on the box and said this gentleman didn’t want to hear any more singing, so we’ll go ahead and start preaching . Obviously, he didn’t like that any better.  [Read more…]
