We encountered the wicked and the encouraging both Friday night witnessing during Art Walk and earlier in the week at Planned Parenthood. Friday night Aaron, Brian, Chris, Diana, Elise and I started off singing hymns. While we were singing, I noticed Chris was missing. I asked my other friends and nobody knew for sure where he was. Evidently he stepped around the corner and was talking to a young man. Chris gave him a Bible and we hope the young man reads it. Also while we were singing, our friendly atheist Jim who we haven’t seen in quite a while, walked by. I saw him first and said Hi and handed him a tract. He hesitated and then took it anyway and promised that he would read it. Aaron also said Hi to him. Even though Jim is a devout atheist, he supports our right to preach. He’s even stood up to the police for us and he’s been kicked out of a couple of atheist groups because he says we have the right to free speech. Oh how we hope and pray that God would reach him. Who Is The Real Psycho?
Brian and I were joined by Jeri witnessing at Planned Parenthood. It was great having a new person join us. Brian brought a passionate message first and then Jeri finished up by pleaded with the workers to think about what they are doing. She pleaded with them to repent and trust Jesus. Sandwiched in between my friends I brought a message from Amos about the abomination of worshiping Molech (Amos 5;27) and how abortion is the modern day version of that horrendous practice of child sacrifice. We encountered a couple of strange ones while witnessing downtown last Friday night. One man didn’t want to tell me his name so I called him Alien. After Aaron , Diana, Elise and I sang several hymns (actually three of us sung while Elise played the violin), I brought a message about praising Jesus. In one part of the message I said Heaven would be like Hell to those who hate God because in Heaven we are going to praise Jesus for all of eternity.
While witnessing at the Kentucky Derby last weekend, I heard people yell out “God is gay” more than I’ve ever heard before. It’s blasphemous to say such evil things. God is not dead. God is not gay. God is not pro-gay. God is not on the LGBT side of this current immoral revolution sweeping across America. [Read more…]
Friday night Kelly, Steven, Aaron, Erica, Diana and Elise and I were getting ready to start the night singing hymns when Cody and Rob walked up to see what we were doing. It turns out that they go to the same church I belong to – Crossway Baptist Church. They sang some hymns with us and hung around while Kelly brought a message about hard preaching. He gave many examples in the Bible where Jesus preached hard, John the Baptist and others preached hard. It was a great message and a timely message in this current day and age where most people are worried about being politically correct. Keep preaching hard brother Kelly!
It was a real blessing to witness at the Kentucky Derby Outreach through Sports Fan Outreach International. Twenty four of us from around the country had a wonderful time of fellowship and laboring for God’s kingdom. Twelve hour days of witnessing were long and the nights seemed short, but it was an amazing time of sharing the Gospel through tracts, one to one witnessing, a hand held sign, prayer stand and open-air preaching.
