Preaching At People

Preaching At People

Last Wednesday a young man came up to me while I was reading about Paul’s conversion in Acts 9 and he opened his Bible and read to me: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward (Matthew 6:5).  [Read more…]

Mockers From Beginning To End

Ministry Update October 16, 2016

I was the first one of our group on the square Friday night and two young people started talking to me. The young woman was asking spiritual questions, but the young man kept making vile and crude remarks. He was so bad she actually pulled him away and walked on. What a way to start the night and really hadn’t even started yet. But that’s how the night went; we had mockers from beginning to end.  [Read more…]

Sin Righteousness Judgment

Jesus told His disciples that He was going to suffer, die and rise from the grave (Mark 8:31). Our Lord told them that He is the Messiah, that He is the Savior. He also told them that He would send the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide them.  [Read more…]

Mocking Muslims

Ministry Update October 9, 2016

Brian, Aaron and I witnessed at Missouri State University last Wednesday and four Muslims stopped to mock me while I was bringing a message about the apostle Paul’s conversion. About the time they walked up another student yelled get a job to which I replied “I have a job, yet I take time out of my busy schedule to come here to share the Gospel with you.” I was about finished with the message at that point and the Muslims were still standing there. So I went over and talked to them.  [Read more…]

Life In The Blood

I don’t know about you, but I get squeamish at the sight of blood, especially my own. One morning I woke up and a blood vessel had burst in my eye. When I looked in the mirror and saw dried blood coming from my eye, I immediately passed out. When I woke up, my wife was standing over me and I kept looking at her wondering why she was upside down. Then I realized that I was lying flat on my back on the bathroom floor. (Luckily I missed the corner of the wall by an inch or less).  [Read more…]

Drunk Lesbians Threaten To Beat Us Up

A couple of self-professing drunk lesbians threatened to beat up Aaron, Erica and myself. Erica and Aaron have both been jailed for their faith and Aaron has been punched several times by unrepentant sinners. All that kept going through my mind was “this wouldn’t be the first time.” I’ve been attacked by a drunk lesbian before.  [Read more…]

Out Of This World

Out Of This World

When I was a kid, we used to say ‘far out.” We’d say this expression when we thought something was really cool. Jesus is far out. There’s never been anyone like Him and there never will be. He raised people from the dead, healed the blind and lame and fed multitudes of people. In fact, you won’t find anyone else in the Bible who healed a person who was born blind except for Jesus. But Jesus is far out as in out of this world. He is out of this world. He is seated at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven. He truly is far out. He is out of this world.  [Read more…]

Nice Problem

Ministry Update September 25, 2016

On Friday nights we typically pray, sing hymns, preach and sing hymns to end the night. But last Friday we couldn’t even get started praying at first because people were coming up to us and asking us questions. We had four or five one on one conversations before we even prayed! Now that’s a nice “problem” to have.  [Read more…]

What Is The Work Of God?

What Is the Work of God?

What is the work of God? Notice, I didn’t say the works of God. Many of us can name various works of God; such as when God made the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1) or when God made us human beings (Genesis 1:26-27). God made the angels and Hell for the devil and the fallen angels (even though Hell hath enlarged itself and people foolishly fall into it by dying in their sins – Isaiah 5:14). We can think of many works of God, but what is the singular work of God?  [Read more…]

Professor Brings Class Out To Meet Open-Air Preacher

Ministry Update September 18, 2016

Aaron, Brian and I witnessed at Missouri State University on September 14, 2016. The “free hug” professing Christians took our spot where we normally witness. So we witnessed at Strong Hall (where they have religious classes). We preached a couple of times and when Aaron went the second time, a crowd gathered and one of Aaron’s former professor brought her class out to meet him. They listened to his message and then she introduced her students to Aaron because she wanted them to see that the man is mild mannered compared to the open-air preacher. Yes, Aaron preaches hard, because eternal souls are in the balance. But he is mild mannered when talking about spiritual matters. Aaron stayed there answering questions for over an hour and a half. May God continue working on the lost souls that heard the Gospel.  [Read more…]
