Many people in America love money. Did you know the Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil? God doesn’t need money and He sure doesn’t worship it. In fact, this may shock you, but in Jeremiah it talks about God rejecting men and it likens them to reprobate silver. Reprobate means rejection. Can you imagine rejecting silver? Conner and I witnessed in downtown Springfield, MO on Friday night. After Conner prayed, I brought a message. We had a couple of hecklers, but the one that stands out was one with a car load of people a girl yelled out the car window, “If we don’t sin Jesus died in vain.” This is one of the things about street ministry, you never know what people are going to say and it wouldn’t even come to mind otherwise. The Bible clearly proves that Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, is the Christ. He is The Anointed One. He is the Savior of the world. Jesus is the Messiah that was prophesied about in the Old Testament. I have repented from my sins and put my trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior because He is the Christ. He is the only way of salvation. Jesus is the only one who could take away my sins. I love, worship, and adore Jesus Christ the Lord. I believe with all my heart that he is the Christ. Friday night Conner and I witnessed downtown. North Point Church had a special event at the Gillioz Theater across the street from us. The event was called The Gathering that I’ve been told they do a couple of times a year. I think the theater holds close to a thousand people and there appeared to be hundreds of people coming out when the event when it was over. So we had a larger crowd than most Friday nights and I’m sure most people walking past us thought we were preaching to the choir. But that’s alright, the choir needs to hear the Gospel too. I had vertigo and was sick to my stomach last Friday. So I missed work and couldn’t make it downtown to go witnessing. Lord willing, several of us will witness this coming Friday night. Since I don’t have a message to post, please see this one from the past:
On Wednesday I was sharing the Gospel at Missouri State University. I was explaining how foolish it is for students to claim that God does not exist. I was quoting from Romans 1 and John 3. A student came up and said, “I read the pamphlet you gave me.” I replied, “the one about science?” She said yes the science one and that it was really good. The student was talking about Tim Stout’s booklet How God Reveals Himself Through Science that several of us handed out last month. She thanked me for giving her the pamphlet. [Read more…]
Last week a student put her hand up refusing a tract at MSU and then she turned around and said, “I don’t believe in God.” I didn’t say anything because I’m trying not to respond in a harsh way to God-mockers and scoffers. But I can’t get this out of my mind because what I really want to say to the young woman is “God doesn’t believe in your unbelief of Him.” [Read more…]
Friday night while I was bringing a message, Conner handed out tracts. He offered tracts to a group of young men and they refused the tracts, but one of them said “I like Jesus.” I like Jesus, just like saying I like the color red. No real emotion or anything. Have we become a society so used to social media that we just break everything down to what we like or dis-like? I didn’t hear the young man, but I suspect it wasn’t just like as in liking a Facebook post. I think the young man was indicating that he likes Jesus. That Jesus is alright by him. [Read more…]
I remember several teachers when I was younger that used to say, “There are no stupid questions.” Now I understand that they were trying to encourage students to not be afraid to ask anything, but the statement is false. Friday night was a light night loaded with open-air preachers. It was a cool night and the crowd was light, but it was great having Kelly, Steven, Conner and Brian come out witnessing. Even though the crowd was light, we had both some encouragers as well as mockers. Plus, we had a good time visiting with each other when we weren’t bringing messages. [Read more…]
