Going the wrong way in more ways than one described witnessing downtown Friday night. Even though Conner and I had a slow night, we saw people going the wrong way while driving and people going the wrong way spiritually. People driving the wrong way is a real concern because someone can get hurt or even killed. But people going the wrong way spiritually is an even greater concern. We Are Going To Die

Ministry Update November 18, 2018

Pastor Joshua and I witnessed downtown Friday night. Pastor Joshua quoted Hebrews 9:27 and was just saying “we are going to die” when two cars nearly collided right in front of us. They came really close to having a bad wreck while around five people were walking behind one of the cars. Pastor Joshua then said, “You may die in a car wreck.”  It was so scary that when the people crossed the street, one guy bent over with his hands on his knees and said that he was scared to death. It was a scary moment, but oh what a powerful example of how my life and your life can end at any moment. It really drove home the point that life is short and people need to get right with God. Lifting Up The Name Of Jesus

A lot of times my friends and I talk about sin, death and Hell. We talk about the need to repent and trust Jesus. These are necessary subjects to talk about. They are biblical. Jesus talked about them. But I must confess that I may talk too much about sin, about people dying in their sins and suffering the torments of eternal damnation. Why Do You Come Here?

I had some interesting interactions at Missouri State University on Wednesday. I handed out tracts while walking to the witnessing spot. One lady took a tract, but when she realized what it was, she handed it back and said I go to church. Personally, I wouldn’t respond that way. I’d say “I’m a believer too” or “I’m a follower of Jesus.” But mainly I take tracts when offered them. I like to see what other people are handing out. You never know, I may find a tract that I like even better than what I’m currently using. This was my first interaction and the last one ended with “Why do you come here?”  [Read more…]

Are you calling God a liar? This is a serious question. Are you calling God a liar tonight? The Springfield Skeptics are on the square tonight encouraging you to ask them questions. I’ve talked to some of these “skeptics” in the past and they aren’t really skeptics, they are flat out atheists. They emphatically say there is no God. Americans, Muslims and a Jews. I know, this sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, but it’s not. This is just a ministry update from witnessing in downtown Springfield, MO on November 2, 2018. Conner, Pastor Joshua and I witnessed downtown during Art Walk Friday night. We handed out tracts and all three of us did open-air preaching. While one person preached, the other two handed out tracts. Pastor Joshua and Conner got into a few conversations and I really only had a few brief encounters. But we talked to several Americans, Muslims and one Orthodox Jew. Needless to say, it was an interesting night.  [Read more…]

I like to cook on the grill and I personally prefer using charcoal. Generally, I’ll cook hamburgers, hot dogs or chicken breast on the grill. But every now and then my wife will buy some steak. When I grill steak, I typically sear each side for a couple of minutes. Seared steaks tend to taste better than when you don’t sear them.  [Read more…]

We Were Listening

Ministry Update October 28, 2018

Jeff and I witnessed at the 36th Annual Bean Festival in Mountain View, Arkansas. Mountain View is a town of about 2,700 people, but there were probably between 5,000 and 6,000 people attending this year. They hand out beans and cornbread. Then they have an outhouse race and thankfully they weren’t functioning outhouses. The last message I brought was concerning men and women’s sinfulness and God’s Holiness. I pleaded with people to repent and trust Jesus. Then I asked the question “Is anybody listening?” If so, you should stop dead in your tracks and pay attention. Bless a lady’s heart, she walked over and said “We were listening right over there.”  [Read more…]

If you’ve heard me open-air preaching before, I’m sure a lot of you think I talk too much about the wrath of God. I do talk about God’s wrath. It is true, it is real and you need to hear about it.
