God Is Not Indifferent

God Is Not Indifferent

Earlier tonight a young lady told us that she’s a Christian and that’s not uncommon. Sometimes people tell us they are an atheist. Also while out street witnessing, sometimes we hear people say that they really aren’t for God and they aren’t against Him. They are just neutral to God; they can take Him or leave Him. But this simply isn’t true. No one is neutral to God. You are either for Him or against Him. Oh, you either love God and obey Him or you are an unrepentant sinner still spiritually dead in your trespasses and sins. You are not indifferent to God and God is not indifferent to you. Kelly Open-Air Preaching

Blessed Night

Ministry Update June 21, 2020

Kelly and I had a blessed night of witnessing. It started off slow, but picked up later on. A college student named Tia took a Gospel tract from us as she walked her dog. Kelly asked about her dog and that led to a conversation. The young lady says that she is a Christian. We asked her to read the tract and pass it on to someone else and she said that she would. I brought the first message and had mocker right of the bat. He walked out of a convenience store heading the other direction, but turned around and cussed real loud. A couple of cowboys were walking near us and the first one said, “just ignore him” to which I said “Amen” and the second one stopped and shook my hand. [Read more…]

Do You Know That You Are A Sinner?

Do You Know That You Are A Sinner?

Do you know that you are a sinner? We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). You and I are sinners. We have all rebelled against God. Each and every one of us at one time or another has said No to God and Yes to our ourselves. (Unbelievers say No to God all the time because they always do exactly what they want to do). But none of us have put God first all of our lives. None of us are righteous. We are all sinful creatures. Again, I ask the question, do you know that you are a sinner? [Read more…]

Man Standing By Light Pole And I Had Several Mockers

Man Standing By Light Pole And Had Several Mockers

The one parking lot was full again Friday night and the other one near the witnessing spot was empty, just like last week. But this week there was a man standing by the light pole and I had several mockers. The man by the light pole listened to part of the message before moving on. I’m not sure why he stopped by the pole, but he did. I had a couple of mockers that walked by, but they weren’t very good mockers. I couldn’t hear what they said. The message was about whether you know that you are a sinner or not. Evidently, they didn’t like the question. Also had one car load of mockers drive by while I was pleading with people to repent and put their trust in Jesus. [Read more…]

Are Deathbed Confessions Real?

Are Deathbed Confessions Real?

Over the past 10 years or so, I have debated with several friends over the question: Are deathbed confessions real? I must confess that I have tended to lean toward the idea that you can’t wait until the end and be saved at the last minute. I love listening to an old-time preacher named Rolfe Barnard and he used to say something along the lines that you can’t blow the smoke of your rebellion in God’s face and then have God receive you at the last minute. Some Bible verses that back up this position would be that God will not always strive with man (Genesis 6:3) and Romans 1:28 where it says that God turns some people over to a reprobate mind. You run so far, so long and so hard away from God and He allows you to continue to reprobation – basically to a point of no return. [Read more…]

Smaller Crowd Than Normal

Smaller Crowd Than Normal
Ministry Update June 7, 2020

Friday night I brought a message Are Deathbed Confessions Real in downtown Springfield, MO. The parking lot across the street was nearly full, but the lot behind me was completely empty. There weren’t nearly as many people out as would have been before COVID-19, but it was great to be out witnessing again. Five people stopped to listen to at least part of the message. A man in a wheelchair actually rolled down to the corner and he listened to the whole message. One gentleman kept yelling “Read Exodus 3:14”. I kept open-air preaching and every now and then he would yell the same thing. After I finished talking about how Jesus suffered, bled and died on the cross for guilty sinners and rose again from the grave and how the Lord is the only Savior and pleaded with people to repent and trust Him, I read Exodus 3:14.

The Great I AM

The man cheered after I read the words God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you,’” I pointed out that Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I am.” This is the One I’ve been talking about! Jesus is the great I AM. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and every knee will bow to Him. Oh, but you must do so in this life in order to receive everlasting life. If you wait until Judgment Day to do so, it will be too late. On Judgment Day, those who say it then, will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where they will suffer forever. After stating this, I pleaded with people to repent and surrender to Jesus. Today is the day of salvation.

After sharing the Gospel in the open-air, I walked around downtown and handed out tracts. Many people refused, but only one guy stated that it was because he was afraid of taking anything from anyone (afraid of the coronavirus). But I was quite surprised at the number of people who willingly took a Gospel tract. Some even took one after they asked me what it was and I told them that it’s a Gospel tract – it tells you about Jesus. May God bless the tracts and have people share them with others and may God bless the message that went forth, even though it was a smaller crowd than normal.

Why The Message – Beaten Beyond Recognition?

Why The Message – Beaten Beyond Recognition?

The death of George Floyd was horrendous and inexcusable. The policeman that callously choked the life out of Mr. Floyd should be punished. Just as horrible as this death was, the violent mobs around the country, especially those attacking people is also horrendous and inexcusable. The man in Dallas that was beaten unconscious was also a despicable, horrendous act of violence. All of this violence and other terrible stories of murder and mayhem around the world remind me of the one who was beaten beyond recognition. Why the message – Beaten Beyond Recognition? Because the one who was beaten beyond recognition is the One – the only Savior of mankind. Jesus, fully God and fully man, came to this very earth that He created and lived perfect, sinless life. The Lord never sinned, not one time. Yet He willingly went to the cruel cross to take the punishment that He didn’t deserve. [Read more…]

Why The Update – I Know It’s A Sin

May 24, 2020 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Why The Update – I Know It’s a Sin

Why the update I know it’s a sin? Because that’s what the young man admitted to me. Several of us were witnessing downtown on a Friday night in November 2016. I started talking to a young man named Cody while he waited on his friend who was talking to Erica. Cody appeared to be very intoxicated, so I asked him if he’d been drinking and he said that he had been. When I asked him if he realized that getting drunk was sinning against God, he admitted, “I know it’s a sin.” You need to realize that most people won’t admit their sinning when confronted with their sins. Typically, people come back with comments like “everybody does it” or “it’s no big deal” or “it’s human nature or just being human.” So it’s actually refreshing when someone actually admits their sin. Why The Message – Outrageous Puppy Killer?

Sean Branch Outrageous Puppy Killer

Why The Message Outrageous Puppy Killer?

This message was posted in January 2013 because it truly was horrific. A young man in Washington, D.C. was sentenced to four months in jail for killing a little puppy. Why did he do it? He was mad at the dog’s owner, so he viciously killed the poor, little, defenseless puppy. This is truly awful. People should be outraged over such behavior. We must stand up for the rights of animals! As horrible as this story is, there’s something even worse. Much worse. Three thousand little babies are killed every day in America! Little babies, poor, little, defenseless babies are viciously murdered every day. This is horrific. But where’s the outcry? Why aren’t people hopping mad about this? Why does this travesty, this injustice continue unabated? It does so because of choice, because of a woman’s “choice” to kill her unborn child. [Read more…]

Why The Message – I Would Have Eaten The Forbidden Fruit?

May 10, 2020 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Why The Message – I Would Have Eaten The Forbidden Fruit?

Why the message – I Would Have Eaten The Forbidden Fruit? Because a young lady said that to me while I was witnessing in downtown Springfield, Mo in September 2017. I had open-air preached on a different corner earlier that evening and a couple of friends and I then moved to a different spot downtown to hand out tracts.  A group of college students walked by and one girl stopped and asked if I also witness on campus (at Missouri State University) and I told her that I do witness there too. Then she asked me why I do this? Asking a street evangelist this question is absolutely wonderful. This allowed me to share the Gospel with Antonia and her friends, all because she asked the question why do you do this. [Read more…]
