We’re All Going To Die!
We’re all going to die! We’re all going to die! Yes, people are panicked over Covid-19 or the coronavirus. People are afraid of dying. All of this panicking has caused a shortage of hand sanitizer toilet paper and milk. Obviously, people need to quit hoarding necessary items and we all need to just shop like normal. Of course we all need to use necessary precautions and wash our hands and limit our exposure to others. But should we all be panicked? Should we all be running around screaming “We’re all going to die! We’re all going to die!”?
Less than 1.5% of Americans that have contracted the virus have died. Worldwide, around 4% of the people that have the coronavirus have died. Those are very small percentages compared to “we’re all going to die.” Each person is made in the image of God, so it’s very sad to hear about each and every death. Life is precious and life is short. But should we be panicked over the coronavirus? Absolutely not. Should we be concerned and take precautions? Absolutely yes. Are we all going to die from the coronavirus? Absolutely not. Are we all going to die? Absolutely yes, unless Jesus comes back for His followers during our lifetime. If He doesn’t do so while we are alive, then yes, we’re all going to die.
We Are All Going To Die Some Time Some Day
We’re all going to die, some time, some day. We just won’t all die from the coronavirus. But make no mistake, death is certain. It is appointed unto man once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). We are all going to die. Each and every one of us. It is the ultimate statistic: 10 out of 10 people die. Not 4 out of 5 dentists recommend this dental product or that one. No, 10 out of 10 people die. There are 7.8 Billion people in the world and 7.8 Billion people will die, sooner or later.
Death is the great equalizer. We’re all going to die, but we don’t all go to the same place. Followers of Jesus Christ go to Heaven after they die. Unbelievers go to Hell. The question isn’t do we all die or are we all going to die. No, the question is where will YOU go after you die? Heaven or Hell? The main thing is will you die IN Christ or outside of Christ? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you repented of your sins and surrendered your life to King Jesus?
Have you bowed your knee and confessed with our tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord? Is He Lord of your life? Are you one of His followers? Has Jesus radically changed your life? The early Christians were accused of turning the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Has Jesus turned your life upside down? Are you saved? Have you been born again? Are you spiritually re-born? You had a physical birth, have you experienced a spiritual birth? Are you a new creature in Christ?
Should You Panic?
Should you panic over the coronavirus? No, you shouldn’t. But should you panic over dying in your sins and going to Hell? Yes, you should, if Jesus is not your Lord and Savior. We are all going to die. Where you will go after you die? Are you prepared to meet your Maker? If you died today, would you go to Heaven? If you say yes, what are you counting on to get there? If you are counting on anything except for the shed blood of Jesus Christ, you won’t make it Salvation is the free gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9) and you must receive this gift. No other way leads to Heaven.
All of the cults are works based. Atheists believe that they are good. I can’t tell you how many Atheists have told me that they are more moral than most Christians. (Sadly, they may be right, at least more moral than many professing Christians). But being a good moral person won’t save you. None of us can be “good enough” for God to save us.
We have all sinned. The soul that sins, it shall die (Ezekiel 18:20). The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We physically die because of sin and those who die outside of Christ experience the second death, which is never ending death. Those who die in their sins, foolishly go to Hell and they will suffer God’s righteous anger over sin for all eternity. None of us earn salvation. We all deserve to suffer in torments for all eternity for our sins, for our rebellion against God. But salvation is found in Jesus. Salvation is of the Lord.
Only Way To Heaven
The only way to Heaven is through Christ Jesus alone. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6). All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out (John 6:37). No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:44). Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Jesus is the only Savior, but what a mighty Savior He is. The Lord Jesus created us and the universe. He is the Word. Christ Jesus came to this earth 2,000 years ago, the very earth that He created. He was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. He never sinned, not one time. Jesus never sinned in His thoughts, words or actions. Yet, He willingly gave up His life to save His people from their sins. He gave His life as a ransom for many. Jesus was bruised for our iniquities. By His stripes we are healed.
The Lord suffered, bled and died upon that cruel cross. As He hung there for six long, torturous hours, God poured His anger, His wrath over sin upon His own sinless Son. Jesus paid a sin debt that He did not owe. Christ died, was buried and rose again the third day. Jesus defeated sin, death, Hell and Satan. That’s why He is the only Savior. He is the only sinless One. He died in the place of those He came to save. The Just died for the unjust. The sinless died for the sinful.
Christ Suffered, Bled And Died
Jesus suffered, bled and died to save His people from their sins. Are you one of His? Have you repented and believed the Gospel? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? There is no other way to be saved. Salvation is only through Christ alone. If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, what’s holding you back? What is keeping you from submitting to King Jesus tonight? What sin do you love so much that’s dragging you to Hell?
Do you really believe that you are in charge of your own life? I’ve been talking about the coronavirus tonight. You and I can protect ourselves as much as humanly possible, but we still might get the virus. You or I might really die from Covid-19. There are six cases of it right here in Springfield, MO. One man from Boone County, MO has died from the coronavirus. So, it is a real possibility that this might happen.
You or I might die from the virus. Should we be afraid of it? Should we be afraid to die? I don’t want to die because I love my family and want to spend more time with them. I have a one-year old granddaughter that I love very much. So, no, I’m not anxious to die. I also want to share the glorious Gospel with others until the Lord calls me home. But I am ready to die. I am headed for glory and I’m looking forward to worshiping Jesus for all eternity. But afraid to die? No, I’m not afraid.
Should You Be Afraid?
If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, then you should be afraid. You should be afraid and tremble. Even the demons are afraid of God. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils (demons) also believe, and tremble (James 2:19). Jesus also said that unbelievers should be afraid. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him (Luke 12:4-5).
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Jesus told us to fear God! Satan cannot cast you into Hell. But God, the righteous God can and does punish unrepentant sinners. You should fear God! We are not all going to die from Covid-19, but we are all going to die one day. Will you repent and put your faith in Jesus and receive everlasting life or will you die without Christ Jesus and suffer eternal flames of torment for all eternity? Which will it be? It’s one or the other. There are no third options. You are either saved and going to Heaven or you are a Hell-bound, unrepentant sinner.
By the way, Hell is not a party place where you will be drinking and carousing with your friends. Oh, your friends may very well join you in Hell, but there’s no party in Hell. People suffering the torments of Hell are not having a great time. I don’t believe they even worry about who else is there with them because the pain and misery is that awful. Your best friend might be right next to you, but in Hell you won’t notice or won’t care because your pain will be that intense. You will only focus on yourself and your own anguish.
People Are Suffering Unimaginable Pain And Suffering In Hell
Hell is a place where people have no rest day or night and where the smoke of their torment rises forever (Revelation 14:11). It’s a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Luke 13:28). Hell is where people are still cursing God and they will suffer His righteous judgment forever. Hell is a place where the worm dies not and the fire is never quenched (Mark 9:44). There are no parties in Hell. You may very well die in your sins; die as an unbeliever and suffer God’s righteous anger for all eternity.
But you cannot say that you were not warned. I have warned you tonight. I have warned you to flee from the wrath to come. Repent and believe the Gospel. Put your faith in Jesus Christ the Lord. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).
We’re all going to die! Yes, we are all going to die some day, one day (we just aren’t all going to die from the coronavirus). Are you going to die believing in Jesus with saving faith or you are going to die with God’s wrath abiding upon you where it will abide forever? Are you going to die a saved soul with your name written in the Lamb’s book of life? Will you die as a one that has been made alive in Christ Jesus or will you die as a guilty sinner with God’s anger resting upon you where it will abide forever? We are all going to die one day; but where will you spend eternity?
