Welcome Students
Ministry Update August 27, 2017
On Wednesday August 23, 2017 I witnessed at MSU during the lunch hour. It was the students first week of school for the fall semester. It was a pleasure to say “welcome students” to those new to Missouri State University and to welcome back the returning students. I tied the message to the parable Jesus told about the king inviting people to the wedding in Matthew 22:1-14 and how many rejected the invitation. My plea was that they wouldn’t reject the invitation to repent and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ the Lord.
Several students sat on the benches for part of the message. One young lady stood there listening for probably three-fourths of the message. One young man walked up and shook my hand and thanked me for sharing the Gospel. Toward the end of the message a young girl skated around me three or four times on her skateboard. She never said anything, she just kept circling around me. Several students held their phones up and recorded as they walked by. Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t working right that day. I pray that God will save many of these students this year.
Busy At Planned Parenthood
Then Polly and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Friday. We had three people honk in support as they drove by us. A guy from next door came over to say no one is listening. He was just mocking, but unfortunately it appears that he was right. There were 5 or 6 cars at PP when we got there and even though several vehicles came and went, there really was no reaction to speak of and no interaction with any of them. But the Gospel went forth and may God continue working on consciences and hearts of the people that went into Planned Parenthood and on those that work there. Also, a friend commented on a Facebook post that two people were there in the parking lot praying for us while we were witnessing. We greatly appreciate their prayers and I thank God that they did this.
(These updates are provided to encourage Christians to share the Gospel with others. You don’t have to be an open-air preacher. You can hand out tracts, share your testimony, stand in front of abortion clinics. Find some way to share Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior with others.)
