We Don’t Want God We’re Gay
Last Friday night we were street preaching on the square. While Brother Jim was finishing up, a group of young women started mocking him. They continued mocking while Aaron preached. I was standing there handing out tracts and they hollered for me to come over and talk to them. So I walked over and said what do you want to talk about. One girl said about “this bull____ you guys are saying.” I said so you really don’t want to talk. Then one of the girls said we don’t want to hear about God tomorrow (at the gay pride event), to which I replied, we’ll we are going to talk about God. Then a girl said “we don’t want God we’re gay.”
We don’t want God we’re gay. That could have been the mantra to the gay pride parade. We don’t want God we’re gay. That young woman has no idea how much truth she spoke in that statement. We don’t want God we’re gay. Many of you don’t want God today. You really don’t. You don’t want God because you love your sins.
Love Is Love
Some people ran around last Saturday with signs saying Gay is ok. Others have signs that say Love is Love. It’s not love is love, the Bible says God is love. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life John 3:16). Most people are alright with John 3:16 because they don’t realize what it really says. They just focus on the For God so loved the world part. They ignore or neglect the rest of that verse.
But let’s just leave it at that for a moment. Even though most people don’t want God , they are probably alright with For God so loved the world. Most of you are probably also alright with John 3:17 which says: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. So again, even though you don’t want God, you’re probably ok with Jesus not coming into the world to condemn you, but to save you. Even though you reject Him, you really don’t mind that He came to save sinners.
But wait for it. John 3:18 says: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. You don’t want God. You don’t believe on the name of Jesus. You aren’t trusting in Him for salvation. He is not Lord of your life and John 3:18 says: you’re condemned already! You don’t want God and you don’t have Him and He doesn’t have you because you are already condemned. Now that makes you mad. That makes you fighting mad.
Gay People Don’t Want God
Gay people don’t want God. They want to flaunt their sins in public. They want to parade their sodomite ways in public. They have the president supporting them and I wouldn’t doubt that they have most Americans supporting their sinful ways. But they don’t want God and God does not support them. Homosexuality is a sin. Sodomy is an abomination to the Lord. Gays don’t want Him and they don’t have Him. Their sin is a stench in His righteous nostrils and they are already condemned.
If this message bothers you tonight because you are an unrepentant sinner, please remember that you are condemned by God, not by me. And you can’t stand this. You can’t stand that the God you reject; rejects you. It makes you stark raving mad that you are condemned by God. You can have the approval of the whole world, but you can’t gain the approval that really matters and that’s God’s approval. You’ll never get that while you are living in blatant sexual sin. It won’t happen because God is Holy, righteous and just.
We don’t want God we’re gay. Why don’t homosexuals want God? Because they are already under condemnation. Let’s continue on. John 3:19 tells us: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Woo, boy, if you are living in blatant sin then you really can’t stand this one. You are condemned because Jesus is the Light and He’s come into this world, yet you reject Him because you love the darkness rather than the light. You love the evil because your deeds are evil.
We don’t want God we’re gay. That’s right gays don’t want God, because they love their sin. Your deeds are evil. Your sin is evil. It’s an abomination to Almighty God. You reject Jesus because you are still a slave to sin. Satan has you bound up. You are the devil’s whipping boy and he’s loving every minute of it. He’s convinced you that your sin is alright; that you don’t need God. That you can get along without the great God of Heaven and earth.
Satan Is A Liar
Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He is the great deceiver and he has you fooled tonight if you are an unrepentant sinner. You love your sinful ways and he’s whispering to you that it’s alright. Nobody cares. Everybody loves you. Everyone is for you. Strut your stuff and be proud about it. Lift your head high and don’t be ashamed or fear anyone. The devil is lying to you. God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble. You don’t want God and he resists you as long as you continue in your prideful rebellion against Him.
John 3:20 says: For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. You don’t want God because He is against your sinful rebellion. You have a God-given conscience. You know right from wrong. You know homosexuality is a sin. You know sodomy is an abomination to God. You know this, but you suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Gays make themselves feel better that the president supports their cause. They are happy with the strides the LGBT community has made the last few years – same sex marriage and so forth.
But you don’t want God because you’re gay. Or if you are not gay, what sin do you love more than God? I don’t want God I’m a drunkard. I don’t want God I’m a drug addict. I don’t want God I love fornicating. Fill in the blank. I don’t want God I’m _______.
You don’t want God to convict your conscience over your sin. But that’s what God’s truth does. It brings you under conviction over your sinfulness and His Holiness or it hardens your heart even more. Which is it tonight? Is God still speaking to you? The same God that you are rejecting and rebelling against, is He still calling you to repent? Or have you hardened your heart so much that He’s turned you over to a reprobate mind?
Can You Hear The Savior Calling?
Can you hear the Savior calling? Can you hear Jesus calling you to repent and surrender your life to Him? Do you hear the Good Shepherd? Jesus said my sheep hear my voice. Do you hear Him today? Oh if so, don’t continue rejecting such a great of salvation. Come to Jesus tonight. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Stop rebelling against God. Stop telling God no. Stop pretending that you’re alright without God. You know your life is a mess. You know that you have no lasting joy. Jesus can fill you with joy unspeakable and full of glory if you come to Him
Jesus suffered, bled and died for guilty sinners like you and me. He bore God’s wrath over sinful man as He hung on that cruel cross. He took the punishment over our sins that you and I deserve. He died on that cross, was buried and rose from the grave victoriously three days later. Jesus defeated sin, death, Hell and Satan. God offers everlasting life to each and every person who repents and puts their faith in Jesus Christ the Lord. Jesus came to save His people from their sins. If you claim Jesus and yet you continue in your sins, you have not met the risen Lord. Instead, you have made a little g god for yourself and that little g god is Satan and he’ll lead you straight to Hell.
Do not be deceived tonight; the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Are you deceived tonight? Do you think God accepts you the way you are? Do you think God overlooks your sin of choice because you try to be a good person? Do not be deceived, the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. You won’t make it to Heaven unless you confess and forsake your sins. You must turn from your sins and turn to Jesus.
Deceived Or Rebelling?
Are you deceived today or are you like the young woman last Friday night who knows she’s rebelling against God? She knows that she’s saying no to God because she’s gay. She knows her sin is an abomination to God and she doesn’t care because she loves her sin. Either way, deceived or blatant rebellion will lead you straight to Hell. We don’t want you to go there. We want you to repent and trust Jesus. The real Jesus. The true Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible who said unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
The same Jesus who said But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder (Mark 10:6-9).
Jesus very clearly talked about marriage being between a man and a woman; male and female. Do not continue being deceived. God only recognizes marriage as between a man and a woman. He does not recognize same sex marriage, no matter how much of the whole world approves of it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36).
Your Soul Is Valuable
There’s nothing more valuable than your soul. There’s nothing more important than where you will spend eternity. Oh, today, right now, get right with God. Come out of the darkness and into the light. Don’t worry about what your friends will say or think. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Surrender your life fully and completely to Him. Come to Jesus and be saved.
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel (Mark 1:14-15). Repent and believe the Gospel.
Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Be ye saved. Be saved today. Repent and put your faith in Jesus. Submit to His Lordship. Do this today. Don’t put it off. Stop saying we don’t want God we’re gay or I don’t want God I’m _______. Surrender your life to the Lord. Believe on the Lord Jesus and receive everlasting life.
