We Are All Sinners
None of us are perfect. We are all sinners. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one (Romans 3:10-12).
The Bible is very clear on this matter. We have all sinned against our righteous and Holy God. None of us are innocent. We are all guilty. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known:
There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:13-20).
All the world is guilty – each and every one of us. No flesh, no one is just in God’s Holy sight. We can’t make ourselves right with God. No matter how good you try to be, you can’t measure up to God’s perfect standard. There isn’t a single innocent person on this planet. We have all gone astray from God. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way (Isaiah 53:6a). Not a single one of us have loved God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength every second of every day. We are all sinners. We have all sinned against God. We have all rebelled against God.
Our rebellion and sin will not go unpunished. There is hell to pay for your sins and for mine. The soul that sins, it shall die. None of us can cheat death. You will die some day. Where will you spend eternity? Will you suffer the torments of Hell forever over your sins? You will, if Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior. Because again, your sins will be punished; the question is, will you receive the just punishment for your sins by suffering the torments of Hell forever and ever? Or have your sins been forgiven?
None of us are righteous. None of us are just or right with God, at least not in our rebellious state. There’s only one way to be right with God. There’s only one way that your sins can be forgiven and that is through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus suffered, bled and died on that cruel cross for guilty sinners who repent and put their trust in Him. Is that you today? Have you turned from your sins and turned to Jesus? Have you surrendered your life to the sinless Son of God? Are you saved today?
If you say that you are saved, is your life different now than it was before? Not only does Jesus save us from eternal damnation, but He also saves us from our sins. He saves us from our bondage to Satan. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will (2 Timothy 2:26).
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Ephesians 2:1-5.
Make no mistake; if Jesus Christ is not your Lord and Savior, then you are bound to the devil. He is drawing you deeper and deeper into sin. The devil never lets up. He never feels sorry for you and says that you’ve had enough. No, he keeps pouncing and pouncing on you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it (Job 1:7).
Do not be deceived tonight .Satan is the great deceiver. He is the father of lies. He is not your buddy. He wants to destroy you completely. Sin is not your friend. I don’t know who said this because I’ve heard it attributed to different people, but: Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
Sin
Is sin dragging you farther than you wanted to go? Did you just start out dabbling in alcohol? Did you just start out thinking marijuana isn’t a hard drug? Did you start out thinking that lusting after women doesn’t hurt anyone? Do not be deceived tonight. We are all sinners. Just a little, tiny sin may seem insignificant, but it doesn’t stay that way. One drink leads to another and another. Next thing you know, you can’t stop. That one toke of marijuana leads to more and more highs. Next thing you know, you are searching for higher high and you’re on to heroin or cocaine. You start off lusting after women , maybe looking at pornography and the next thing you know, you are cheating on your wife.
Has sin kept you bound up way longer than you ever intended? Are you an alcoholic tonight? Are you a drug addict? Are you a sex addict? Has sin kept you longer than you thought it would? Has sin cost you more than you thought it would cost? What have you given up for your sins? What have you lost over your sins? What has it cost you? Money? Friends? Loved ones? Jobs?
One affair leads to another and the next thing you know, your marriage is over. Maybe you kept taking one more drink until you lost your job and your home. Maybe drugs have landed you in jail. Do not be deceived, sin is not your friend. It will take you father than you want to go. It will take you farther than you intended. Sin has you bound up tonight unless Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Satan is your master tonight if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus. Who are you serving tonight? It’s one or the other. Jesus said that you cannot serve two masters. Are you serving the Son of the Living God or are you serving the devil?
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever (1 John 2:15-17). Are you living for Jesus or are you living for the pleasures of the flesh? What did you come downtown for tonight? What are you seeking? Are you serving yourself or are you serving the Lord?
No matter how far you’ve gone, you can be redeemed. You can be saved tonight, if you cry out to Jesus. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked (1 John 2:1-6).
Jesus is the propitiation for our sins. Propitiation means the wrath was satisfied. God’s wrath, His anger over our sins was poured out upon His own precious Son, for those who repent and trust Jesus. Oh, your sins can be forgiven. Your sins can be wiped clean. You can receive everlasting life. God will hold your sins against you no more, if you turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Won’t you do this tonight? Won’t you come to Jesus?
But if you refuse; if you continue in your rebellious sinful state against God, then His wrath still abides upon you. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36). Do not die in your sins as an unrepentant sinner. The wages of sin is death. Not just physical death, but the second death, which is the eternal death. It’s torments in the lake of fire and brimstone that’s never ending.
No Wise Cast You Out
Don’t do it. Don’t die and go to Hell. Repent and trust Jesus. Salvation is of the Lord. Jesus is the only Savior. Humble yourself and come to Jesus. Confess and forsake your sins. Put your trust in Jesus. Come to Christ tonight. Our Lord said that He will in no wise cast you out, if you come to Him.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:37-40).
Everlasting life is found in Christ alone. God gives eternal life to everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus. Believing on Jesus is more than a one-time belief in Him. God isn’t looking for you to say a one-time prayer and continuing in your sins. No, He’s looking for those who believe on the Lord Jesus. For those who fall broken at the feet of Jesus. For those who recognize and admit their sins. For those who turn from their sins and turn to Jesus. Believing on the Lord Jesus is trusting on His finished work on the cross for your salvation. It’s believing that Jesus suffered, bled and died for your sins and rose from the grave on the third day.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Believe on the Lord Jesus tonight and be saved. We are all sinners, but some of us are sinners saved by grace. If that’s not you, repent and believe the Gospel.
