I’m sure you have heard the saying, “variety is the spice of life.” I agree with that statement (but not in the context most people use it in). Variety is the spice of life. Look around at creation and what do you see? Variety…everywhere you look.
There are seven billion people walking around this earth and we are all different. We all have unique finger prints. Look at the variety of trees. I live in the Midwest in the United States. We are blessed here with four distinct seasons. Most of the trees have lost their leaves. But not the oak tree in our back yard. The dead leaves remain on the tree until the new buds spring forth.
Look at all the different shades of green in the world, different shades of grass. Different styles, shapes and sizes of grass. Ever notice how the sky looks different. A variety of colors, cloudy and cloudless days. Every day is like a unique painting.
Everywhere I turn I see variety. So do I think variety is the spice of life? Sure I do. I also don’t believe all this just happened randomly out of nothing. If we evolved and everything else evolved, wouldn’t it all be streamlined and the best, natural processes survived? No, we see all this variety because we have a great God and He is a wonderful Creator and Sustainer and He obviously likes variety.
Thank You God for my life, thank You for every breath that you have given me. I thank You for saving me through Jesus Christ my Lord. I also thank You for variety; Your variety. I thank you that all true believers are members of the body of Christ and that you have given us different spiritual gifts (Romans 12:4-8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-12). Thank you Dear Heavenly Father for the spice of life that you have given us. Amen
