The Birth of Jesus
It’s just two days before Christmas and over 3,000 precious little babies will be murdered in the womb today – all around our nation. Over 3,000 precious little image bearers of God will never see the light of day. Over 3,000 babies will be killed today, just two days before we celebrate the birth of Jesus. So as strange as this may sound, we thought standing in front of Planned Parenthood is actually the best place to talk about the birth of Jesus. Planned Parenthood promotes death and destruction, but we want to talk about life. About the Life.
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them (Luke 2:1-20).
The angel told the shepherds the good news; that a Savior has been born in Bethlehem. Glory to God. It’s always a miracle when a baby is born. Please note that women don’t say “I’m having a clump of cells.” They don’t say “I’m having a fetus.” No, they say I’m having a baby. Even the abortion loving spawn of Hilary Clinton – Chelsea Clinton just announced that she’s having another child. She didn’t say that she’s pregnant with a clump of cells. She’s having a baby.
Jesus was no ordinary baby. Jesus was fully God and fully man. He was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He was, is and is to come. He is the great I AM. He is the one who came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). He is the only Savior. No one comes to God except through Him (John 14:6). He shed His precious blood, suffered God’s anger over our sins as He hung on that cruel cross and He suffered and died for guilty sinners like you and me. He saves those who repent and put their trust in Him. He is the One. He is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25).
The sinless One became sin, the one who knew no sin that we might become the righteousness of God. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We are all sinners. We all deserve God’s eternal wrath over our sins. But Jesus took the punishment for us. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36). There is salvation in no other.
Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. He came that we might have life. He’s talking about being born again. Unless you are born again, you cannot even see the kingdom of God, let alone enter into it. But here’s a news flash, we have to physically be born before we can be born again. Every single life is precious.
Every Child
Every child deserves a chance to live. No child deserves to die in the womb. A person cannot experience the abundant life that Jesus talked about in John 10:10 if they don’t first experience life. It is not a woman’s right to choose to kill a little baby. The rest of humanity throughout time will judge our wicked generation for this most heinous crime of killing babies in the womb. Stop the madness. Abortion must end.
We are just two days away from celebrating the birth of Jesus. I thank God for His amazing gift of salvation that He offers freely through the sacrifice of Jesus. I thank God that He saved me eight years ago when I cried for Him to have mercy on a sinner like me. I thank God that He granted me repentance and faith in Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I’m thankful for the most wonderful gift of all time – Jesus Himself.
Yes, the birth of Jesus was special, it was supernatural and the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus was necessary for salvation. It truly is worth celebrating. But every life is worth celebrating. Every life is a miracle from God. Every child deserves to be born. I used to argue that Planned Parenthood may have killed off the baby in the womb that would have discovered the cure from cancer. But every one of the nearly 60 million babies that have been viciously murdered in the womb since 1973 deserved to live. Every single one. Not just the ones who would have been brilliant, but every single one.
Stop killing babies in the womb. All of you workers need to quit your job immediately. Come out of there. Come out of the darkness and into the light. Come out here and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Come out here and celebrate the life of every child that is born. Come out here and stand for God and stand against evil; especially the evil of abortion.
