Tim Tebow seems very genuine about his faith. I believe when he’s “tebowing,” that he is sincerely praying and/or praising our one true God. I don’t believe it is an act or a show of any kind. I think Tebow is really worshiping God when he kneels down.
People either jump on the Tebow bandwagon or they hate on him, they make fun of him and his faith. People mockingly tebowed at the Super Bowl several times over the three days that 110 of us around the country were at the Super Bowl witnessing with Super Bowl Outreach. One of the guys on our team brought a cross with him. People were constantly stopping in front of the cross, kneeling down, smiling and laughing while their friends took pictures of them.
These people were not worshiping the Creator of the universe. They were not showing God respect. They were mockingly tebowing at the Super Bowl. They were scoffing and blaspheming our Holy God. It was very sickening. My heart breaks for these people. If they continue in their mockery and they die in their sins, they will be in big trouble on Judgment Day.
2 Corinthians 5:10 says “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” and Philippians 2:10-11 states “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
I pray that the Tebow mockers and scoffers change while they are still alive. I pray that all God mockers and blasphemers repent while there is still time. Jude verse 18 says “How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.” The Bible is very clear that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. I gladly praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ now, in this life.
Unfortunately, people who wait until Judgment Day to say the name of Jesus, (possibly through clenched teeth) will be too late. If they don’t repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15) in this life, then they will spend eternity in Hell. They will have plenty of time to think about all the times they made fun of God, blasphemed His name and scoffed at Him.
If you are far from God, if you are living your life selfishly for yourself, then please turn away from your sins and turn toward God (Ezekiel 18:30). This is so serious. Please don’t wait until it’s too late. Please, please turn away from your sins and surrender your life to Jesus from this day forward. Then worship our Lord and Savior; whether tebowing (for real) or not, but worshiping Him in all sincerity.
