The start of the message is going to show my age because I’m going to reference the old TV show Dragnet. I remember watching reruns of the show as a kid in the late 1960’s and Joe Friday saying, “Just the facts ma’am.” My wife remembers this saying too. Even though I did a little research and found out that these words just the facts were never spoken on the show. “Do you have a uterus?” asked the woman who pulled her SUV into Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. Yes, a woman drove into the parking lot just to ask, do you have a uterus. In other words, if my friends and I can’t have a baby then somehow that negates our right to stand against abortion. Hogwash. Life is precious and life is worth fighting for. Friday night was full of noise! Noise! Noise! No, I’m not talking about our little 37 watt amplifiers. I’m talking about the motorcyclists revving their engines and cranking their stereo’s up. Several cars and trucks revved their engines too. It was very noisy downtown. I understand that lost people don’t like hearing the Gospel. The Bible says it is foolishness to those who are perishing. But a lot of this animosity was directed toward us while we were singing hymns. We also heard many hail Satan’s and other derogatory comments.  [Read more…]

Flag Burning, Transgender, Catholic, Atheist and Satanist

It was an honor to witness on Veteran’s Day at MU in Columbia, MO with several brothers in Christ from Kirksville and Rolla, MO as well as some from Illinois. We had a great day of witnessing on campus, even though some students were still protesting Trump’s victory by burning an American Flag. This happened before I got there, but my friends told me about it and the local news covered it too.

It was very sad, especially on Veteran’s Day. I’m grateful for every man and woman currently serving our country and for all who have served in the past. Because of your sacrifice, we still enjoy our freedom in our nation, so thank you for serving!  [Read more…]

God Sent Me To Test You

We had a fairly quiet night Friday night witnessing downtown. The crowd was very small, but a lot foot traffic moved around us the whole time Aaron, Erica, Diana, Elise, Serenity and I were witnessing. We sang a few hymns to start the night, then I brought a message Do You Have Peace With God? Toward the end of my message a young man wearing a Halloween mask tried to interrupt me. I told him that I was about finished then I’d be happy to talk to him. He tried several more times to interrupt me, but I finished it. The earth shattering thing he had to say was to complain that I was reading my message. He said I needed to speak from my heart and then he said “God sent me to test you.”  [Read more…]

Ministry Update: January 31, 2016

I witnessed at MSU last Wednesday and I usually preach first, then hand out tracts. The students who walk by first hear the preaching and the ones who walk by later receive the tracts. So this time I mixed it up. I started off handing out tracts. A friend from church gave me 100 Atheist Test tracts from The Way of the Master. It only took about 15 minutes to hand them out. The whole time I did this, there were four students standing in the free speech zone where we normally preach and they were holding up signs that said: Free Hugs. They didn’t bother me when I was handing out tracts.  [Read more…]
