Narrow Minded

How would people describe you? Are you a liberal or conservative? Progressive thinker or old fashioned? Do you tend to be politically correct or not? Are you a capitalist or socialist? God rejector or God fearer? Are you broad minded or narrow minded? How would those closest to you describe you tonight?  [Read more…]

Still Had Mockers On A Slow Night

Ministry Update December 23, 2018

Pastor Joshua, Conner and I witnessed downtown Friday night and it was a really slow night. We suspected it would be when we pulled up and the parking lot we normally park in (or at least try to park in most Friday nights) was nearly empty. It turned out to be a slow as we suspected. In fact it was so slow, that Conner walked around the block by the square just to see if anything else was going on. Since there wasn’t, he came back to our normal spot. But we still had mockers on a slow night.  [Read more…]

The Coming Day

My oldest daughter is getting married in a couple of months. She’s all excited and her fiancé is excited too. When we talk about the coming day, the big day, we all know which day we are talking about. We are looking forward to the coming day, the wedding day.  [Read more…]

My Lord And My God

My Lord And My God

We just celebrated Easter the first of the month and Easter is also known as Resurrection Sunday. I personally like Resurrection Sunday because it more accurately describes why we celebrate the event. Followers of Jesus are celebrating that not only did Jesus suffer, bleed and die for our sins, but He also rose from the grave. We serve a risen Savior. Do you remember what the apostle Thomas said when he saw the risen Lord?  [Read more…]

Sudden Death

Sudden Death

I used to be a real sports fanatic. Yes, I’m embarrassed to say that 20 to 25 years ago, I’d be the guy chewing out the referee at a basketball game. Red faced, veins popping out in my neck. Even though I’m nothing like I used to be, I do still like sports. Some sports have what is called sudden death, as in sudden death playoffs. In golf for example, if two or more golfers are tied at the end of a tournament, those players start playing again and the first person to score the lowest on a hole first, wins the tournament.  [Read more…]

Love Not Hate

Love Not Hate

Love not hate. Students I come here and share the Gospel with you every week out of love not hate. I do not hate you. If I hated you, I would not spend my lunch hour hear pleading with you to come to Jesus Christ. If I hated you, I wouldn’t care if you died in your sins and you went on to Hell. But I do not hate you. I lift my voice up so you can hear me from several directions as you are coming and going. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God so my great desire is for you to hear God’s truth, that He will convict you over your sins and that the Lord would grant you eternal life.  [Read more…]

Total Recall

Some people can remember most of what they read and see. In fact, some people even have a photographic memory. I am not one of them. I have a hard time remembering what I ate for lunch yesterday. But other people remember everything in great detail. Albert Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He doesn’t have a photographic memory, but it’s pretty close to one. He reads several different newspapers every day and then he talks about the most important issues for about 15 or 20 minutes. He does this every morning, Monday through Friday and he does The Briefing without a script. He truly has an amazing memory. [Read more…]

Broken or Crushed?

In Luke 20:17-18, Jesus is talking about the religious leaders at that time. The verses state, And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. [Read more…]

Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Look at the lyrics by Philip P. Bliss listed below. Have you recognized your guilt before God? Do your sins seem vile to you? Do you recognize that you are helpless to save yourself? Only God can open your eyes to your sinfulness before you will cry out to the Savior. [Read more…]

It Pleased God To Bruise His Son

November 24, 2012 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

It pleased God to bruise His Son on our behalf. This shows exactly how seriously God takes our sins! There’s nothing we can do on our own to atone for our sins against our Holy God. Have you received the most amazing gift of salvation? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you repented and believed the Gospel? (Mark 1:15).
