Hot Preaching!

Hot Preaching!

Ministry Update July 8, 2018

It is a real privilege and honor to lift up the name of Jesus in the open-air with Kelly, Conner and Pastor Joshua and it’s been great having Rich join us witnessing while he’s visiting from China. Every now and then we get accused of being too harsh and preaching too hard. But Friday night I believe we had Spirit-filled, hot preaching.  [Read more…]

Great Time Worshiping Jesus

Great Time Worshiping Jesus

Ministry Update April 29, 2018

Kelly, Steve, Thomas, Joy and I had a great time worshiping Jesus Friday night. We sang several hymns to start the night. It was the warmest night we’ve had so far this year and there were a lot of people downtown. No matter how foolish we looked singing and preaching on the street corner, we really did have great time worshiping Jesus Christ our Lord.  [Read more…]

Former False Convert

Ministry Update July 2, 2017

Friday night Kelly, Aaron, Margaret, Diana, Elise, Desi and I started off singing hymns like normal. Then Kelly started us off with the first message. He had a car that kept driving by with a woman at the wheel and a man in the passenger seat. She laid on the horn and he stuck his head out the window motioning that he couldn’t hear Kelly. They were just some of the many mockers we encountered (sadly as usual).  [Read more…]

More Than One Music Man

More Than One Music Man

 Ministry Update May 28, 2017

Friday night we were blessed to have more than one music man. In fact, we ended up with three before the night was over. I was the only odd man out. I don’t play any instruments and I can’t carry a tune, but I make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Allen brought his keyboard and Danny brought his mandolin and we started the night off singing four or five hymns.  [Read more…]

I’m Not Really Up For This Whole Preaching Thing Right Now

I’m Not Really Up For This Whole Preaching Thing Right Now

Ministry Update April 23, 2017

“Did you guys get one of these tonight?” “What is it?” “It’s a Gospel Tract.” “Do you believe in Jesus?” “Yeah.” “You do? Have you repented and put your trust in Him?” “I’m not really up for this whole preaching thing right now.” Sadly, the young lady that said this, had missed the preaching. Aaron, Joshua, his son, Serenity, Cody and I were just singing hymns to end the rainy night of witnessing downtown. So I really wasn’t preaching to her.  [Read more…]

Vocal Atheists

Ministry Update April 9, 2017

Friday night was Artwalk and there was a good crowd downtown. Kelly, Steven, Serenity, Diana, Elise, Aaron, Joe and I were blessed to have evangelist Larry Craft and his family join us. They nearly doubled the size of our group and we needed all hands-on deck, especially with the vocal atheists that stood in front of us all night.  [Read more…]

Noise! Noise! Noise!

Ministry Update February 19, 2017

Friday night was full of noise! Noise! Noise! No, I’m not talking about our little 37 watt amplifiers. I’m talking about the motorcyclists revving their engines and cranking their stereo’s up. Several cars and trucks revved their engines too. It was very noisy downtown. I understand that lost people don’t like hearing the Gospel. The Bible says it is foolishness to those who are perishing. But a lot of this animosity was directed toward us while we were singing hymns. We also heard many hail Satan’s and other derogatory comments.  [Read more…]

Good To Be Back Home

Good To Be Back Home

Good To Be Back Home

It’s good to be back home and out witnessing again in downtown Springfield, MO. Aaron and I missed the previous two Fridays and we thank Kelly for coming out both those nights. We were back in our usual witnessing spot and our fellow neighbors didn’t let us down. Several Hail Satan’s were shouted out by people walking by, motorcyclists tried to drown out the preaching and singing with their loud stereos and some people stated that we weren’t witnessing the right way. But we had some encouragers too.  [Read more…]

Don’t Touch Me

Don’t Touch Me

“Don’t touch me!” the drunk screamed at me Friday night. The ironic part was that he mumbled that he should knock me off the box right before he got to me and then he did try to knock me off. As I was falling backwards I put my forearm out to keep him from hitting me. The drunk then went ballistic. First cussing me out and then he got right in Aaron’s face, yelling and cussing him out. Then Justin tried to talk to the guy, but he just yelled and cussed him out too.  [Read more…]

Mockers From Beginning To End

Ministry Update October 16, 2016

I was the first one of our group on the square Friday night and two young people started talking to me. The young woman was asking spiritual questions, but the young man kept making vile and crude remarks. He was so bad she actually pulled him away and walked on. What a way to start the night and really hadn’t even started yet. But that’s how the night went; we had mockers from beginning to end.  [Read more…]
