Old Preaching Spot

Normal Witnessing Spot

Old Preaching Spot

Ministry Update March 19, 2023

The city of Springfield has the road and sidewalks torn up around our normal witnessing spot, so I ended up open air preaching at the old preaching spot. Joshua, Lydia, Anand and Michael joined me Friday night. Since the road and sidewalks were torn up, we started out caddie-corner from our normal spot. One guy refused a tract from Joshua because he said, “I’m not a religious person”. Joshua tried to engage him in conversation, but the guy didn’t want to stand around and talk. He ended up taking a tract and his friend took a tract from me before they walked off.

Joshua Says That He’s A Believer

After that, Joshua suggested we walk around so we did. We were near the square when I handed a tract to a young man named Joshua. When I told him that it was a Gospel tract, he got excited and said that he’s a believer too. He couldn’t really verbalize the Gospel, but when I shared it with him, he said “Amen.” So hopefully he really is saved. We walked on over to South and Walnut which has become our secondary witnessing spot after we move from the first one. We were standing there handing out tracts and Joshua reminded me that I used to open air preach across the street. I said that I used to until people around there called the police so much that it became a real hassle to preach there.

Open Air Preaching At the Old Witnessing Spot

Joshua suggested that I should bring a message there since I wasn’t able to at our normal spot. The others encouraged me too, so I did. Praise God we didn’t have any problems. A couple of guys stopped and listened for about five minutes next to where Anand and Michael were handing out tracts. Lydia and Joshua were handing out tracts near me. Afterwards we handed out tracts on the old corner and Joshua walked a half a block down the street and witnessed to Robert. The man listened and took a tract.

Later on, we were still handing out tracts on the corner when a couple walked by. The guy took a tract and kept walking, but then he turned around and came back to encourage us to keep witnessing. He said that he’s a believer too and he was excited to see us out sharing the Gospel. His wife walked almost a block a head of him. He hollered at her, but couldn’t get her attention. So he ended chasing after her before she got too far ahead of him. But I think he would have stood around and visited some more if she had heard him. We had a great time witnessing and I appreciate my young evangelist friends more than they’ll ever know. They are so encouraging to me.
