Salvation By The Grace Of God

Salvation By The Grace Of God

Sometimes my friends and I get accused of trying to shove our religion down people’s throats. We get accused of this because we do stand on the street corner and call people to repent and to trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We believe the Bible. We believe Jesus. We are doing as Jesus commanded us to do – to preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).  [Read more…]

Fighting Friday Night

Ministry Update August 19, 2016

Friday night was a crazy night. Before we even started, a group behind us started yelling that they were going to come over and kick our a____. Then some started yelling that they were Wiccans and others said that they were Atheists. But overall they didn’t want to hear us preach. Then while Kelly was preaching, an angry man grabbed the woman that was with him and wouldn’t let her go. Diana said something to him and he cursed her. Then Aaron confronted him and he cussed out Aaron. He kept telling everyone to stay out of it.  [Read more…]

Works Based Gospel

Works Based Gospel

Works Based Gospel

People wrongly accuse Seek and Save the Lost of promoting a works based Gospel. If this is what you think, I’m sorry to tell you that you are wrong. Jesus did not have a different message 2,000 years ago than He does today. Jesus said repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15). God commands everyone to repent and put their trust in Jesus (Acts 17:30-31 and Acts 20:21). Those verses are just as relevant today as they were 2,000 years ago. Those verses are just as much for us today as they were for the hearers 2,000 years ago.  [Read more…]

Evil Doers

The Bible talks about evil doers? What do you think of when you hear the word evil? Do you think of ISIS terrorists? Do you think of mass murderers or serial rapists? Do you think of abortionists – doctors who kill little babies in the womb for the almighty dollar? When you hear “evil doers,” what do you think of?  [Read more…]

Have You Believed in Vain?

Falling into Hell
There were some professing Christians out here last week giving out free hugs. They were no different from the atheists that do the same thing downtown; they also hold up signs that say free hugs. If you received a hug last week, how would you know that it was from a professing Christian or a professing atheist? You wouldn’t. There is no difference. A free hug sign is a free hug sign and a hug from a stranger is a hug from a stranger – Christian or atheist.  [Read more…]

Abiding

If you are not a follower of Jesus, I encourage you to go to Where Will You Spend Eternity or Ten Commandments. If you are my brother or sister in Christ, then I want to ask you: What are you abiding in today? What are you abiding in? Are you caught up in yourself? Are you caught up in others? Are you caught up in the riches of this world? Are you caught up in the cares of this world? What has your heart? Right now?  [Read more…]

Seek and Save the Lost Kellys Judge Not Heckler

Ministry Update: September 27, 2015

Friday night September 25, 2015 we sang hymns to start the night off and then Kelly preached first. He preached against the pope, Rick Warren and T.D. Jakes – he preached against false prophets. He had a heckler get right in his face telling Kelly that he shouldn’t judge and sadly he was the typical judge not heckler. They know Matthew 7:1, but that must be one of the only verses that they know out of the whole Bible. Because if you read just a few verses farther, Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite. Don’t tell others they shouldn’t steal if you are a thief. Don’t condemn adultery if you are out committing adultery. Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite.  [Read more…]

Slut Walk Invite

Ministry Update September 20, 2015

The thing about open-air preaching and street ministry is that you never know what’s going to happen. While I was at MSU open-air preaching on Wednesday September 16, 2015, a young man named Marcus walked across the grass in front of me and came up and shook my hand. It’s always great to see people that are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also had a couple of people that walked by and mouthed off and kept walking which is more typical. But while I was bringing the message, I noticed three students handing out flyers near where I was standing. I didn’t pay much attention to them and kept preaching. As they were heading to class, one of them came up to me and handed me an invite to Slut Walk.  [Read more…]

Who Are The Lost?

Seek and Save the Lost Old Banner

The name of this ministry is Seek and Save the Lost. It comes from Luke 19:10 where Jesus says: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. People visit this website from all around the world. Recently, several people have asked the question: who are the lost? This is a very good question. Who are the lost? Who was Jesus talking about in Luke 19:10? He had just told Zacchaeus that he was coming to his house. The people who heard Jesus say this murmured because Jesus was going to eat with what they called a sinner and He wasn’t going to dine at one of the religious leader’s homes.  [Read more…]

Is Open-Air Preaching the Most Effective Method?

December 22, 2014 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 4 Comments

I talked to a pastor last month and he wanted to know if open-air preaching is the most effective way to reach people in America. He wasn’t belittling street preaching. This pastor was genuinely questioning and thinking about this as he asked the question out loud. This pastor is a former missionary. He has done open-air preaching himself, but never in America. He has seen people come to salvation right on the spot after hearing the Gospel proclaimed in the open, but again, that wasn’t here in America. His thought was that Americans have already heard the Gospel. So he truly wonders if it is the most effective method to reach Americans. [Read more…]
