Deathbed Confession

Deathbed Confession

Ministry Update August 19, 2018

Rich, Kelly, Steven and I witnessed downtown Friday night and it was a night with many mockers. Rich started us off. He had a few people revving their cars, scooters and motorcycles revving their engines as well as people yelling out of their cars. But he also had a guy that had an amplifier that was in one of the loft apartments across the parking lot in front of us. The guy kept repeating how he was gay (but he used a derogatory term for homosexuals) and kept mocking through probably the last half of Rich’s message. This guy said that he’s going to live his alternative lifestyle and then plans on a deathbed confession at the very end.  [Read more…]

We Worship The Same God

Ministry Update February 18, 2018

Kelly and I witnessed downtown Friday night and there seemed to be more people walking around than usual. While I was bringing a message, two Muslims walked up to Kelly. One was recording my message as they talked. They told Kelly that we worship the same God. Kelly politely told them that we do not worship the same God. He talked about Jesus saying that He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). They mostly talked in Arabic so obviously Kelly didn’t know what they were saying.  [Read more…]

I Like Jesus

I Like Jesus

Ministry Update October 29, 2017

Friday night while I was bringing a message, Conner handed out tracts. He offered tracts to a group of young men and they refused the tracts, but one of them said “I like Jesus.” I like Jesus, just like saying I like the color red. No real emotion or anything. Have we become a society so used to social media that we just break everything down to what we like or dis-like? I didn’t hear the young man, but I suspect it wasn’t just like as in liking a Facebook post. I think the young man was indicating that he likes Jesus. That Jesus is alright by him.  [Read more…]

Hail Satan, Flasher, Stool Kicker and a Reprobate Mind

Ministry Update December 4, 2016

We heard four people yell hail Satan, had a flasher, a stool kicker and a reprobate mind on Friday night. Kelly started us off and he preached from Romans 1 when four different people yelled “Hail Satan” while he was preaching. He also received the typical calls “judge not lest ye be judged.” The funniest part about that was he actually addressed this right at the beginning of his message. One of the first things he said was if you feel judged tonight, we are not the ones judging you. If you feel like you are being judged it will be because of God’s word. It didn’t stop several of them from getting upset.  [Read more…]
