Seek And Save The Lost

Seek And Save The Lost

God brought to mind the name Seek and Save the Lost when I named this ministry toward the end of 2009. What really caught my attention is that it is biblical and I especially liked the seeking part. There’s something very comforting in knowing that Jesus is seeking the lost. But lately, God has the “save the lost” part standing out to me. Not only is Jesus a seeking God; He also is a saving God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The King James Version puts it this way:  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). [Read more…]

I Want To Talk To You How You Got The Way You Are

I Want To Talk To You How You Got The Way You Are

Ministry Update December 8, 2019

While I was open-air preaching at Missouri State University on Wednesday, a student politely interrupted me and said, “I want to talk to you about how you got the way you are.” I assured him that I’d be happy to talk to him, but I was just getting ready to share my testimony and that would answer his question. Since I wanted all the students nearby to hear, I would go ahead and tell everyone how I became a Christian and then we could talk one to one. Surprisingly, he agreed and stood around for the next few minutes. [Read more…]

Does The Gospel Sound Foolish To You?

Does The Gospel Sound Foolish To You?

My friends and I come out here on Friday nights and share the Gospel. We typically point out that all of us have sinned against God, that we’ve all rebelled against God and there’s nothing that we can do to save ourselves. Does the Gospel sound foolish to you? [Read more…]

Prove God Is Real

Ministry Update March 17, 2019

A friend suggested that we witness downtown Saturday night instead of Friday night. Unfortunately, my friend couldn’t make it, but Brian and I were able to hand out New Testaments and Gospel tracts. We were anticipating large crowds since Kip Moore was performing at the Gillioz Theatre at 8 pm and the St. Patricks’ Day pub crawl was scheduled to start at 9 pm. But the crowd was much smaller than we thought it would be. Even though it was a much slower night than we expected, there were some conversations. The best conversation was with a group of four young people and one of them said, “Prove God is real.” [Read more…]

Do You Know The Lord?

Do You Know The Lord?

According to a PEW Research Center report last year, 80% of Americans believe in God or a higher power. The same report showed that only 56% of Americans believe in the God of the Bible. This number doesn’t even get into real believers or false converts, but self-professed believers in God. So I ask you, “Do you believe in God?” Do you know the Lord?  [Read more…]

Are You Calling God A Liar?

Are You Calling God A Liar?

Are you calling God a liar? This is a serious question. Are you calling God a liar tonight? The Springfield Skeptics are on the square tonight encouraging you to ask them questions. I’ve talked to some of these “skeptics” in the past and they aren’t really skeptics, they are flat out atheists. They emphatically say there is no God. When they claim there is no God, they are really calling God a liar.  [Read more…]

They Repented Not

They Repented Not

I was reading the Bible the other day and ran across these heart-breaking words – they repented not. Jesus is speaking and He’s talking about the cities where He performed miracles, where He preached the Gospel and they would not listen. They did not have ears to hear. They did not repent. Jesus shared the Gospel, spoke truth to the people and they repented not.  [Read more…]

My Lord And My God

My Lord And My God

We just celebrated Easter the first of the month and Easter is also known as Resurrection Sunday. I personally like Resurrection Sunday because it more accurately describes why we celebrate the event. Followers of Jesus are celebrating that not only did Jesus suffer, bleed and die for our sins, but He also rose from the grave. We serve a risen Savior. Do you remember what the apostle Thomas said when he saw the risen Lord?  [Read more…]

I Don’t Know

I Don’t Know

Last Friday Jeff was open-air preaching and he engaged several people in conversation as they walked by. One question he liked to ask was: Where will you go if you die tonight? One guy said that he’d probably go to Hell and he thinks it will be a wonderful place. (Obviously he hasn’t read how the Bible describes Hell. There are no parties there, just pain and suffering. Weeping and gnashing of teeth). But when Jeff asked a couple of young women where they think they will go, both answered “I don’t know.”  [Read more…]

No Other Name

I think the post No Other Name Under Heaven was just the second one I posted. It’s a short one but it gets to the heart of the matter. What name are you trusting in? There is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Jesus, precious Jesus is the only Savior. Is He your Lord and Savior? Have you repented and surrendered your life fully and completely to Him?
