Why The Update – I Know It’s A Sin

Why The Update – I Know It’s a Sin

Why the update I know it’s a sin? Because that’s what the young man admitted to me. Several of us were witnessing downtown on a Friday night in November 2016. I started talking to a young man named Cody while he waited on his friend who was talking to Erica. Cody appeared to be very intoxicated, so I asked him if he’d been drinking and he said that he had been. When I asked him if he realized that getting drunk was sinning against God, he admitted, “I know it’s a sin.” You need to realize that most people won’t admit their sinning when confronted with their sins. Typically, people come back with comments like “everybody does it” or “it’s no big deal” or “it’s human nature or just being human.” So it’s actually refreshing when someone actually admits their sin. Why The Message Natural Gas Explosion

Why The Message Natural Gas Explosion

On October 9, 2013, I posted a message titled Natural Gas Explosion. The reason for the message was that four different professing Christians came up to us after open-air preaching and told us that we “were doing it wrong”. We weren’t loving people to Jesus. The one that stuck out the most to me was a young lady and several of her friends that were attending a Christian college and she said she appreciated our willingness to talk about Jesus, but that we were going about it the wrong way. So I politely asked her what the right way would look like? [Read more…]

Mohammed Ali And The True God

Ministry Update February 11, 2018

Polly and I witnessed downtown Friday night. While I was open-air preaching, Mohammed Ali walked up and stood between us. Polly smiled at him and he started asking her questions. Mohammed Ali is from the Middle East. He asked her questions about her faith and the Trinity and she answered him. Then he wanted to know why I was open-air preaching. She suggested that he stick around because she was sure that I was about to finish up. Polly was right about that and I had the opportunity to talk to Mohammed Ali about the true God.  [Read more…]

Gospel Preaching Leads To Gospel Conversations

Gospel Preaching Leads To Gospel Conversations

Ministry Update January 28, 2018

Gospel preaching leads to Gospel conversations. An evangelist friend from Georgia says this and it is true. Open-air preaching leads to spiritual conversations, even if people come over to tell you that what you are doing is wrong or that you are witnessing the wrong way. But sometimes it is the spark that causes conversations to get started that otherwise may never happen. Open-air preaching is biblical, it is necessary in our secular society and it causes people to stop and talk to you.  [Read more…]

Kentucky Derby Outreach 2017

Street Evangelists Really Are Crazy

While driving eight hours to the Kentucky Derby Outreach last Thursday (including an extra hour out of the way to avoid the local flooding) I had a lot of time to think about the outreach. I thought about the long drive to the camp and I was looking forward to fellowshipping with the other 24 evangelists from around the country and the teaching that night from Dr. Gentry from Southern Seminary. But I also couldn’t help but think about how long the drive was to Louisville, how the weather forecast was calling for rain both Friday and Saturday and remembering all the mockers and scoffers from The Derby the last few years and I realized that I really am crazy and all street evangelists really are crazy.  [Read more…]

How Can You Have A Bad Night When A Man Walks Up And Says He Just Got Saved Earlier?

Ministry Update March 12, 2017

Man Tells Us He Just Got Saved

How can you have a bad night when a man walks up and says he just got saved earlier tonight? Friday Night Aaron and I were getting ready to sing hymns and street preach when Danny walked by us and he took a tract. When he realized what it was he was all excited. Then he walked up closer and told us that he just got saved at Freeway Ministries. We praised God with him and Aaron asked if we could pray with him and Danny said sure. So we prayed for him and before he walked away I asked him if he had a Bible and he said no. I offered him a Bible and he gladly took it.  [Read more…]

Ministry Update 11/18/15

On Wed. Oct 14th Aaron and I were witnessing at MSU. Aaron had a student follow him around mocking him for while, but he kept preaching. Shortly after that, three guys walked in front of us while Aaron was still preaching and one of the guys had an “Are You Ready” cross. Well that’s something that you don’t see every day, so I looked closer and I recognized Jesse Boyd from North Carolina. James and Michael were with him and they came over and talked for a while. It was a real blessing seeing other open-air preachers out on the campus.  [Read more…]

How Can I Pray For You?

May 18, 2011 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 2 Comments

I recently went out witnessing with some of the guys with Born of Him Ministries at Nixa Sucker Days (no they don’ think the customers are suckers, it is named this because they deep fry fish). We carried a sign with us that said, “Can we pray for you?” Yes we got a few strange looks and a few laughs but several people took us up on the offer to pray for them! I want to thank Carl with Bezeugen Ministries for the idea.
