The Wicked and the Encouraging

Ministry Update June 5, 2016

We encountered the wicked and the encouraging both Friday night witnessing during Art Walk and earlier in the week at Planned Parenthood. Friday night Aaron, Brian, Chris, Diana, Elise and I started off singing hymns. While we were singing, I noticed Chris was missing. I asked my other friends and nobody knew for sure where he was. Evidently he stepped around the corner and was talking to a young man. Chris gave him a Bible and we hope the young man reads it. Also while we were singing, our friendly atheist Jim who we haven’t seen in quite a while, walked by. I saw him first and said Hi and handed him a tract. He hesitated and then took it anyway and promised that he would read it. Aaron also said Hi to him. Even though Jim is a devout atheist, he supports our right to preach. He’s even stood up to the police for us and he’s been kicked out of a couple of atheist groups because he says we have the right to free speech. We encountered a couple of strange ones while witnessing downtown last Friday night. One man didn’t want to tell me his name so I called him Alien. After Aaron , Diana, Elise and I sang several hymns (actually three of us sung while Elise played the violin), I brought a message about praising Jesus. In one part of the message I said Heaven would be like Hell to those who hate God because in Heaven we are going to praise Jesus for all of eternity.

You Preach Hate

Even though it was Art Walk Friday night, it was below freezing and the crowds were low. Erica and I handed out tracts, sang a few hymns and I was on the box talking about The Buckle is Rusted when a young man yelled out “you are preaching hate.” I had to laugh and I replied “I haven’t even started reading the Bible yet. I’m talking about how sad it is that there are 900 kids in foster care in Greene County. How is that preaching hate?”  [Read more…]

Banned

You guys are banned from shopping at Other Mothers. Yes, the manager of Other Mothers banned Aaron and I from shopping at their store ever again. What was our unpardonable crime? We purchased items in his store before we witnessed next door at Planned Parenthood. What were the hateful, unloving words that we spoke in front of Planned Parenthood? Luke 2. That’s right, we sang carols and preached about the birth of Jesus. We did this two days before Christmas. (I will post the message – The Birth of Jesus in a couple of days). So it appears that Other Mothers, a store that sells used children’s clothing supports Planned Parenthood, an organization that kills off their potential clients. Where’s The Outcry?

Ministry Update November 29, 2015

In the last few days there has been an outcry against the shooter in Colorado that killed three people and wounded many others. Personally I feel bad for Officer Swasey’s family. There’s also been an outcry over the Chicago policeman who shot the teenager 16 times in 15 seconds. As well as the outcry over the gang members in Chicago that killed the little nine year old boy – execution style. There has been an outcry over these heinous crimes as there should be. But at the same time, there’s been a deafening silence over the vicious murder of over 3,000 babies in the womb – every day in America. So I ask you, where’s the outcry? [Read more…]
