Friday night I had a couple of encouragers and a couple of mockers. A young man from Hawaii came up and encouraged me before I even brought a message. I was handing out New Testaments at the time and he took one as well as a young Muslim woman. Then I brought a message and didn’t use the amplifier. One driver revved his engine while stopped at the stop sign, trying to drown out the Gospel. Then a couple came by riding bicycles and they stopped near me. They had a vicious looking dog, and the man told me that I better be careful before I get back up on the box using the bullhorn, because his dog wouldn’t like it. There wasn’t much foot traffic downtown Friday night. I handed out less than 10 New Testaments at our normal witnessing spot. Then I walked to the square and about a half a block away I heard the name of Jesus being proclaimed. First Assembly in Strafford, MO had evidently obtained a permit for Friday night. I didn’t want to interrupt their service, so I handed out New Testaments to people standing near or sitting around the edge of the square. Afterward, I walked back to where I started. While my wife and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Wednesday, there were seven cars there. A guy was out front smoking and as soon as I started bringing a message, he quickly put the cigarette out and took the young child that was with him back inside. Evidently people don’t see the irony of bringing small children to Planned Parenthood. We had a couple cars honk in support of us being there and one driver yelled his displeasure at us. Friday night I witnessed downtown where I open-air preached and handed out some New Testaments. Had a couple of drive by mockers. One said somethings incoherently, but the other one yelled, “Ah, go home.” To which I just said, “God bless you.” While I was bringing the message, a couple came over and stood near me. After I finished up, I went over and talked to them. They said that they don’t go to any church because they don’t believe in once saved always saved. [Read more…]

Six of us participated in the What Time Is Purple? Outreach at Missouri State University on Wednesday and we praise God that 1,174 students took the booklets. The weather was great and I’m very thankful that Carla, Connie, Sebastian, Vinton and Jerry joined me for the outreach. We pray that God will use the booklets to reach unbelievers and also to encourage believing students in refuting evolution. [Read more…]

With these updates, many times I say what a blessed night we had witnessing downtown, and Friday night was no exception. I say this frequently because it is true. Every night is different and we never know what we are going to see and hear. Friday night we were blessed with several encouragers, several mockers and a great conversation at the end. The polite mocker at Missouri State University that typically just smiles as he walks by, stopped and said, “Can I ask you a question?” I said sure. Then he said, “Why are you doing this if every knee will bow?” Then he turned and walked away. Again, he generally just smiles or laughs as he walks by me. But every now and then he asks questions, but he really isn’t interested in the answers. He just wants to mockingly ask a question and walk on, continuing to mock God. [Read more…]

Some days street witnessing are tough and other times are a pure joy. Wednesday at Missouri State University was a very encouraging lunch hour. Thank God, 25 students took New Testaments. That would have been encouraging enough on its own, but while I was bringing a message, one student just said “Hello” and he seemed very sincere. He wasn’t mocking or trying to hinder the Gospel going forth. I took it as an encouragement.  [Read more…]

I ended the time witnessing at Missouri State University on Wednesday by walking backwards. But praise God, 20 students graciously received New Testaments before I brought a message. One gentleman that said he didn’t need a New Testament was a Navy veteran. I thanked him for his service and he said it was his pleasure. Then he said that he mainly just read reports. Do All Roads Lead To God?

As Pastor Joshua was finishing up the first message of the night, three Muslims came up and started talking to us. The young man that did most of the talking said at one point that all roads lead to God. We politely tried to tell him that all roads do not lead to God. Jesus said that He is the way, truth and life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Jesus is very exclusive and He is the only Savior.  [Read more…]
