Ministry Update November 5, 2017

On Wednesday I was sharing the Gospel at Missouri State University. I was explaining how foolish it is for students to claim that God does not exist. I was quoting from Romans 1 and John 3. A student came up and said, “I read the pamphlet you gave me.” I replied, “the one about science?” She said yes the science one and that it was really good. The student was talking about Tim Stout’s booklet How God Reveals Himself Through Science that several of us handed out last month. She thanked me for giving her the pamphlet.  [Read more…]

Ministry Update 8/20/17

Friday night it was a real blessing to have Kelly and his son Steven join me downtown. We started off at the corner of St. Louis and Jefferson. There’s a nice little park like area there that my wife Polly calls the park, so I may refer to this new spot as the park in the future. We started off here and then later moved to South and Walnut. That’s why I’m calling this update double header. Just like when we used to play back to back softball games (called a double header) when I was younger, we had two different preaching spots Friday night. “Did you guys get one of these tonight?” “What is it?” “It’s a Gospel Tract.” “Do you believe in Jesus?” “Yeah.” “You do? Have you repented and put your trust in Him?” “I’m not really up for this whole preaching thing right now.” Sadly, the young lady that said this, had missed the preaching. Ministry Update January 1, 2017

After Brian brought a message I preached after him. While I was on the box, Tim came up and asked Brian a ton of questions. I think he talked for 30 to 40 minutes. But one of his questions was why God doesn’t strike him dead when he curses God and challenges Him to kill him. He cursed God and challenged God to “smite me right now.” Since God didn’t kill him on the spot, Tim believes that proves God isn’t real. He doesn’t realize that it’s by God’s mercy alone that He doesn’t strike Tim dead this very moment.  [Read more…]

Ministry Update December 11, 2016

Friday night Diana, Elise and I witnessed downtown. I was bringing a message and like countless times in the past, God sent a mocker by at the exact moment to emphasize a point. I was preaching about why we call people to repent and I was quoting where Jesus was telling the religious leaders that they didn’t listen to John the Baptist, but the tax collectors and harlots did. I was making the point that these sinners repented and didn’t continue in their wicked ways; that Jesus never condoned sins and two lesbians walk up at that exact moment saying “we’re lesbians.” So I reminded them again that Jesus never condoned sin; not homosexuality and not lesbianism.  [Read more…]
