Oh we had a hallelujah good time witnessing in downtown Springfield, MO on Friday night April 8, 2016. I thought later that night that the people going into the bars, the ones searching for drugs or looking for immoral sexual relationships may very well die some day in their sins and go to Hell, but they will get there by going around us, by ignoring God’s pleas through us, that they repent and believe the Gospel. My wife and I used to go antiquing all the time or as we say in the Ozarks – antiquin “anteken.” I used to collect rock albums and my wife used to collect millafore boxes and picture frames. It was fun when I found an album that I’d tried to find for a long time and I really loved it when I found one that was priced right. The millafore boxes that my wife collected were really hard to find. So it was exciting just to see one, no matter how much they were asking for it, but we’d get really excited if we found what she collected in the price range that we could afford. [Read more…]
We started last Friday night off like we always do singing hymns. You could tell it was going to be wild when people yelled out of their car windows while we were singing hymns. How crazy is that? One of my best friends in high school was in a bad fight one time and he was really badly beaten up. The other kid had just moved to Lebanon, MO (my hometown) from somewhere in California. A report came out a little over a month ago that said Springfield, Missouri is the fourth most Bible minded city in America. Let’s pat ourselves on the back fellow Springfieldians. That’s really something isn’t it; number four in the nation? Let’s celebrate our achievement. Wait a minute. What does Bible minded even mean? The report didn’t say Bible believing or God fearing; it said Bible minded. So does that mean most of our homes have four or five Bibles in it? Probably so. But it doesn’t matter how many Bibles you own if you never open one up. It doesn’t matter how Bible minded you are, if you never read God’s Word. [Read more…]
Recently four different professing Christians came up to us after open-air preaching on the square in downtown Springfield, MO and told us that we were doing it wrong. They all said that we weren’t loving people to Jesus. They all said that we were pushing people farther away from God. A week before that an agnostic at Missouri State University told me the same thing. He said that what I was doing was wrong. Aaron Brummitt and I were witnessing at the Craft Beer Fest in downtown Springfield, MO on July 20, 2013. There was a band playing on the square and we have a decibel reading of over 105 decibels. This was about the fifth concert in a row that was confirmed at being over 100 decibels. [Read more…]
A few of us from Springfield, MO went down to Arkansas last weekend to witness and plead for the lives of innocent, unborn children. When we got there, we found 25 other people out there standing for life, pleading for life and sharing the Gospel.
