Quiet All Around

Ministry Update February 25, 2018

Some weeks street witnessing are really exciting. Others are more on the dull side. This week witnessing was quiet all around. Polly and I witnessed downtown in Springfield, MO in the rain on Friday night. Obviously, there weren’t a lot of people out milling around, but there were a few. A couple of people up the street appeared to be listening to part of the message, but overall it was rather quiet. It also was raining enough that we really didn’t get to hand out any tracts. But the Gospel went forth and I pray that God was honored by the precious name of Jesus Christ being lifted up in the open-air.   [Read more…]

Friday night it was a real blessing to have Jeff join Kelly and I downtown. Actually Jeff got there before we did and people were already stirred up right off the bat. It was a night full of mockers. Jeff got into a conversation early on with an angry atheist riding a motorcycle. When I got to our spot (actually Jeff found a really good spot across the street from where we normally go) Jeff was already preaching and people were already mocking. I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Friday during my lunch hour. There was only one van there when I got there and the two women inside were the only customers I saw that day. Friday night witnessing downtown in Springfield, MO started off slow but didn’t stay that way. Joe, Darlene and I got there first and handed out tracts. Most of the people that walked by rejected tracts, but a few took them. Then Kelly joined us, but it was still going slowly at that time. Stop Trying And Start Trusting

Stop trying and start trusting. I heard a sermon the other day by Pastor Adrian Rogers where he said these words. Stop trying and start trusting. This is my advice to you tonight, stop trying and start trusting. I plead with you to do this because most people think they are good. I have a friend in Rolla, MO who says that about 95% of the people he asks if they are good respond yes. He asks more people than I do, but I’d say it’s closer to 99% for me. Most people think they are good.

Friday night Aaron, Serenity and I knew it was going to be a wild night witnessing downtown Springfield, MO. Before we even started singing hymns, a woman in the front passenger seat of a car driving by stuck her head out the window and yelled something that was sexually inappropriate. The wickedness didn’t stop there, no it continued the whole time we were downtown. “Did you guys get one of these tonight?” “What is it?” “It’s a Gospel Tract.” “Do you believe in Jesus?” “Yeah.” “You do? Have you repented and put your trust in Him?” “I’m not really up for this whole preaching thing right now.” Sadly, the young lady that said this, had missed the preaching. Good To Be Back Home

It’s good to be back home and out witnessing again in downtown Springfield, MO. Aaron and I missed the previous two Fridays and we thank Kelly for coming out both those nights. We were back in our usual witnessing spot and our fellow neighbors didn’t let us down. Several Hail Satan’s were shouted out by people walking by, motorcyclists tried to drown out the preaching and singing with their loud stereos and some people stated that we weren’t witnessing the right way.
