I witnessed at Missouri State University during the lunch hour today. Handed out tracts on the way to the witnessing spot, then when I brought a message explaining why I share the Gospel with them. Because God is great. Right off the bat one student stopped right in front of me to listen. Then Quinn the skateboarding atheist stopped and sat on his skateboard. Gospel preaching leads to Gospel conversations. An evangelist friend from Georgia says this and it is true. Open-air preaching leads to spiritual conversations, even if people come over to tell you that what you are doing is wrong or that you are witnessing the wrong way. But sometimes it is the spark that causes conversations to get started that otherwise may never happen. Love And Honor My Wife

I love and honor my wife. Yes, I am the spiritual leader of our home, but that doesn’t mean that I run roughshod over my godly wife. The apostle Paul said a man is to love his wife as Jesus loved the church (Ephesians 5:25). How did Jesus love the church? He died for us true believers! The reason I’m pointing this out is because my precious wife requests that I don’t do open-air preaching downtown on Friday nights when I’m by myself. (Sometimes my wife comes out with me, but we drove 14 hours back from Michigan on Thursday and she only had four hours sleep. So obviously I didn’t ask her to go downtown with me). Friday night, my ministry partners couldn’t make it, so I was witnessing on my own. Because I love and honor my wife, I didn’t open-air preach. Conner and I witnessed in downtown Springfield, MO on Friday night. After Conner prayed, I brought a message. We had a couple of hecklers, but the one that stands out was one with a car load of people a girl yelled out the car window, “If we don’t sin Jesus died in vain.” This is one of the things about street ministry, you never know what people are going to say and it wouldn’t even come to mind otherwise.  [Read more…]

Friday night was a light night loaded with open-air preachers. It was a cool night and the crowd was light, but it was great having Kelly, Steven, Conner and Brian come out witnessing. Friday night it was a real blessing to have Jeff join Kelly and I downtown. Actually Jeff got there before we did and people were already stirred up right off the bat. It was a night full of mockers. Jeff got into a conversation early on with an angry atheist riding a motorcycle. When I got to our spot (actually Jeff found a really good spot across the street from where we normally go) Jeff was already preaching and people were already mocking. Friday night I was handing out Gospel tracts on a street corner in downtown Springfield, MO when a carload of girls drove by. One of the passengers stuck her head out the window and yelled, “Hey sexy cowboy.” Yes, she yelled this at me. No, I’m not sexy. No, I’m not a cowboy. But I am a follower of Jesus Christ who believes we are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. We are supposed to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Jesus. When Christians venture outside of their homes and their churches, they will hear strange comments. But we really shouldn’t be surprised when lost people act lost.  [Read more…]

On Monday August 28, 2017, I witnessed at the University of Missouri with Jeremy, his brother Joshua and his son Joseph. We handed out tracts and the three of us guys brought open-air messages. While I was handing out tracts, one student walked up to me and looked at the Gospel tract in my hand and asked “Is that the weed card or the God card?” I replied, “the God card” to which he said naw, he wasn’t interested. He walked over to the guy gathering marijuana signatures for a petition to get marijuana on the ballot in November. So, I yelled after the student that weed can’t save you.
