You Don’t Have A Uterus
Ministry Update March 1, 2020

While open-air preaching against abortion in downtown Springfield, Missouri Friday night, a woman walking with two guys across the street from me shouted, “You don’t have a uterus.” If I had been thinking quicker, I should have replied, “How do you know I don’t identify as a woman?” But instead, I told her that you don’t need a uterus to know that killing a baby in the womb is wrong. Christmas Eve

Ministry Update December 30, 2018

There were several mockers while I witnessed Christmas Eve in front of Hobby Lobby. One guy mouthed off the whole time he turned the corner at the stoplight. Others mouthed off as they drove by or honked their horn with disapproval. Frankly, this cracked me up a little bit. Wouldn’t you think that Christmas eve, the day before we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ would be the perfect time to tell about His birth, sinless life, sacrificial death and salvation that only He provides? Obviously, not everyone agreed with my thinking. But the mocker that topped them all was the young man with a carload of young people asking me “Do you have marijuana to sell?”  [Read more…]

Cars Nearly Crash

We Are Going To Die

Ministry Update November 18, 2018

Pastor Joshua and I witnessed downtown Friday night. Pastor Joshua quoted Hebrews 9:27 and was just saying “we are going to die” when two cars nearly collided right in front of us. They came really close to having a bad wreck while around five people were walking behind one of the cars. Pastor Joshua then said, “You may die in a car wreck.”  It was so scary that when the people crossed the street, one guy bent over with his hands on his knees and said that he was scared to death. It was a scary moment, but oh what a powerful example of how my life and your life can end at any moment. It really drove home the point that life is short and people need to get right with God. Unbelievers need to repent and trust Jesus before it’s too late.  [Read more…]

Does Good Deed Mean You Are A Good Person?

Ministry Update March 18, 2018

A couple were standing a few feet away from me while I was getting ready to open-air preach and I was waiting on Thomas. The woman wanted to go back and get her jacket. He said their friends were about to reach them, so she didn’t have time to get it. Then he took off his jacket and gave it to her. She kept saying no, but then she relented. I had some Are You A Good Person Tracts so I walked over to the guy and said that was a good deed that you did giving her your jacket, but are you a good person? To which he replied that he didn’t know about that. Then I handed him the tract and suggested that he check it out and see if he is a good person. About that time their friends showed up and they went on their way.  [Read more…]

Is That The Weed Card Or The God Card?

Ministry Update September 3, 2017

On Monday August 28, 2017, I witnessed at the University of Missouri with Jeremy, his brother Joshua and his son Joseph. We handed out tracts and the three of us guys brought open-air messages. While I was handing out tracts, one student walked up to me and looked at the Gospel tract in my hand and asked “Is that the weed card or the God card?” I replied, “the God card” to which he said naw, he wasn’t interested. He walked over to the guy gathering marijuana signatures for a petition to get marijuana on the ballot in November. So, I yelled after the student that weed can’t save you. Only Jesus saves.  [Read more…]

Free Hugs Jan 27 2016 1

Ministry Update: January 31, 2016

I witnessed at MSU last Wednesday and I usually preach first, then hand out tracts. The students who walk by first hear the preaching and the ones who walk by later receive the tracts. So this time I mixed it up. I started off handing out tracts. A friend from church gave me 100 Atheist Test tracts from The Way of the Master. It only took about 15 minutes to hand them out. The whole time I did this, there were four students standing in the free speech zone where we normally preach and they were holding up signs that said: Free Hugs. They didn’t bother me when I was handing out tracts.  [Read more…]

Are We Punished For Our Sins?

October 6, 2014 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 1 Comment

Punished for our sins sign

I drove by a “church” the other day and they had a sign out front that said “We are not punished for our sins, but by them.” This is a quote from Elbert Hubbard. This may sound good to people, but is it true? Let’s look at the last part of the statement first. Are we punished by our sins? Another way to look at this is: Are there repercussions for our actions? Of course there are. This is common sense. [Read more…]
