Who Is Lord Of Your Life?

Bob Dylan had a song years ago called “Gotta Serve Somebody” and it starts off like this:

“You may be an ambassador to England or France
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls

But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody…” [Read more…]

Seek And Save The Lost

God brought to mind the name Seek and Save the Lost when I named this ministry toward the end of 2009. What really caught my attention is that it is biblical and I especially liked the seeking part. There’s something very comforting in knowing that Jesus is seeking the lost. But lately, God has the “save the lost” part standing out to me. Not only is Jesus a seeking God; He also is a saving God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The King James Version puts it this way:  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). [Read more…]

Preaching To The Choir

Ministry Update November 12, 2017

Friday night Conner and I witnessed downtown. North Point Church had a special event at the Gillioz Theater across the street from us. The event was called The Gathering that I’ve been told they do a couple of times a year. I think the theater holds close to a thousand people and there appeared to be hundreds of people coming out when the event when it was over. So we had a larger crowd than most Friday nights and I’m sure most people walking past us thought we were preaching to the choir. But that’s alright, the choir needs to hear the Gospel too.  [Read more…]

Just the Crazy Preacher

Ministry Update November 1, 2015

While I was open-air preaching at MSU on October 28, 2015 a student walked right in front of me and she was talking on her phone. I guess whoever she was talking to wanted to know what was going on because I heard her say “it’s just the crazy preacher.” Just the crazy preacher. I’m ok with being called the crazy preacher. Why? For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). I’m ok with being called the crazy preacher because I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).  [Read more…]

Seek and Save the Lost Kellys Judge Not Heckler

Ministry Update: September 27, 2015

Friday night September 25, 2015 we sang hymns to start the night off and then Kelly preached first. He preached against the pope, Rick Warren and T.D. Jakes – he preached against false prophets. He had a heckler get right in his face telling Kelly that he shouldn’t judge and sadly he was the typical judge not heckler. They know Matthew 7:1, but that must be one of the only verses that they know out of the whole Bible. Because if you read just a few verses farther, Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite. Don’t tell others they shouldn’t steal if you are a thief. Don’t condemn adultery if you are out committing adultery. Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite.  [Read more…]

Who Are The Lost?

Seek and Save the Lost Old Banner

The name of this ministry is Seek and Save the Lost. It comes from Luke 19:10 where Jesus says: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. People visit this website from all around the world. Recently, several people have asked the question: who are the lost? This is a very good question. Who are the lost? Who was Jesus talking about in Luke 19:10? He had just told Zacchaeus that he was coming to his house. The people who heard Jesus say this murmured because Jesus was going to eat with what they called a sinner and He wasn’t going to dine at one of the religious leader’s homes.  [Read more…]
