Do You Believe This?

Do You Believe This?

Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the Lord talked to Lazarus’ sister Martha. Basically, Martha told Jesus that if He had been there, she knew that Jesus would have healed him and her brother wouldn’t have died. She was lamenting the fact that Jesus didn’t get there in time to heal her brother. Martha and her sister Mary were heartbroken over the death of their brother. [Read more…]

Is Social Justice The Gospel?

Is Social Justice The Gospel?

We keep hearing about social justice in the mass media. It appears that many liberal churches are concerned about social justice too. I’m more concerned about churches than the mass media. The liberal church that I mentioned last week talked about social justice under their about tab on their website. So it begs the question: Is social justice the Gospel? [Read more…]

Are You Defiled?

My wife and I started hiking about a year and a half ago. We really enjoy seeing God’s creation and God’s beauty while we are out on the trails. But you know what we don’t like to see? Trash. Some people leave their trash on the trail. This is very selfish and inconsiderate of them. They defile the beautiful scenery with their pollution. [Read more…]

In Or Out

In Or Out?

When I think of in and out, I think of In-N-Out Burger in California. It’s been years since I’ve eaten one of their burgers, but I remember how good they are. Sometimes we use in and out when we need to run to the store or a convenience store. Sometimes I’ll drop my wife off at the door and I keep the van running because she just needs to run in and out for one or two items. These are examples of in and out, but what about in or out? What comes to mind when you hear in or out? [Read more…]

No One Wants To Hear You

No One Wants To Hear You

“No one wants to hear you.” Unfortunately, we hear this frequently while out street witnessing. In fact, my friends and I heard it while witnessing at MU this last week. I also heard it the week before while open-air preaching at MSU. No one wants to hear you. So does that mean we should shut our Bibles and go home, because no one wants to hear us? Is that all it takes to run an open-air preacher off is just for a mocker to state “No one wants to hear you?” [Read more…]

Do Not Fret Over Evildoers

Do Not Fret Over Evildoers

In Psalm 37, King David tells us: Do not fret over evildoers. We are not to fret over the workers and patrons of Planned Parenthood. He also tells us that we are not to be envious of you. Your life is but a vapor. You will fade like the grass withers. You are here today and gone tomorrow. If you die in your sins, die as a baby murderer, you will split Hell wide open after you die. You will suffer the flames of Hell for all eternity for your sins, all your sins, for your rebellion against God. Killing little babies in the womb is an abomination to God and you rightly and justly will suffer God’s wrath for this great evil, if you do not repent and trust Jesus. [Read more…]

Two Encouragers And Two Mockers

Couple Of Encouragers And A Couple Of Mockers

Ministry Update July 16, 2019

Friday night I had a couple of encouragers and a couple of mockers. A young man from Hawaii came up and encouraged me before I even brought a message. I was handing out New Testaments at the time and he took one as well as a young Muslim woman. Then I brought a message and didn’t use the amplifier. One driver revved his engine while stopped at the stop sign, trying to drown out the Gospel. Then a couple came by riding bicycles and they stopped near me. They had a vicious looking dog, and the man told me that I better be careful before I get back up on the box using the bullhorn, because his dog wouldn’t like it. I didn’t bother telling him that I wasn’t using a bullhorn. I just told him to have a good night. [Read more…]

Salvation Of The Lord

Salvation Of The Lord

Salvation is of the Lord. Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost. The Lord came to save His people from their sins. Have you seen the salvation of the Lord? Have you received the salvation of the Lord? Are you saved? Have you been born again? Have you repented from your sins and surrendered your life to Jesus?  [Read more…]

Does The Gospel Sound Foolish To You?

My friends and I come out here on Friday nights and share the Gospel. We typically point out that all of us have sinned against God, that we’ve all rebelled against God and there’s nothing that we can do to save ourselves. Does the Gospel sound foolish to you? [Read more…]

You Shall Be Holy

You Shall Be Holy

Lately during my normal Bible reading, I’ve been reading in the book of Leviticus. Yes, this is one of those books where a lot of people start out strong reading the Bible through Genesis and Exodus, but they get bogged down in Leviticus. This book names several sins and the sacrifices the Israelites were to offer for those sins, to atone for their sins. But what struck me recently was where God says, “You shall be holy” and “I am the Lord your God.” [Read more…]
