The Words of Jesus

Recently someone challenged me to bring a message with just the words of Jesus. In other words, the man didn’t want me to talk about the Old Testament or bring up the words that the Apostle Paul wrote. So even though I’m taking this person up on their challenge, I want to make clear that all 66 books of the Bible are inspired by God. Do You Believe This?

Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the Lord talked to Lazarus’ sister Martha. Basically, Martha told Jesus that if He had been there, she knew that Jesus would have healed him and her brother wouldn’t have died. Atheism Offers No Hope

On the front page of the Opinion page of the New York Times on May 31, 2019, there was an article by Amber Scorah titled: Surviving The Death Of My Son After The Death Of My Faith. It’s a heart-breaking story of a baby boy that died at only four months old. Amber Scorah doesn’t believe in God, so she has no hope. No hope of ever seeing her child again. Sin Means To Miss The Mark

Ministry Update September 9, 2018

On Wednesday at Missouri State University I couldn’t get a permit for my usual spot. So I open-air preached at Strong Hall. I like Strong Hall, it was the first spot I witnessed at when I started witnessing at MSU around seven years ago. Toward the end of the message, a young woman stopped to listen and then she came over to talk afterwards. She studies Hebrew at the university and she said the Greek word for sin means to miss the mark. To that I said a hearty Amen!   [Read more…]

Wake The Dead

Wake the dead. No, I’m not talking about zombies or the living dead. I’m talking about waking the dead, as in several biblical accounts of Jesus raising people from the dead. He raised up the son of the widow at Nain. Jesus also raised Jarius’ daughter from the dead. Is That The Weed Card Or The God Card?

Ministry Update September 3, 2017

On Monday August 28, 2017, I witnessed at the University of Missouri with Jeremy, his brother Joshua and his son Joseph. We handed out tracts and the three of us guys brought open-air messages. While I was handing out tracts, one student walked up to me and looked at the Gospel tract in my hand and asked “Is that the weed card or the God card?” I replied, “the God card” to which he said naw, he wasn’t interested. He walked over to the guy gathering marijuana signatures for a petition to get marijuana on the ballot in November. So, I yelled after the student that weed can’t save you. Jesus Wept1

Jesus Wept. This is the shortest verses in the Bible (KJV) and it is one of my favorite verses (John 11:35). Reading how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead wonderfully and fully shows us that Jesus was fully God and fully man (John 11:1-53). Jesus received word that Lazarus was sick, but he stayed where he was at for a couple of more days. He did this intentionally. He purposefully waited until Lazarus died before He headed to Bethany. By the time Jesus got there, Lazarus had been dead for four days. Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead truly shows us that Jesus is fully God. [Read more…]
