Unloving?

Unloving?

While out street witnessing, sometimes we get accused of being unloving. We are accused of being unloving because we talk about the exclusivity of Jesus. That Jesus Christ is the only Savior. So I ask you, is it unloving to say that Jesus is the only way of salvation? Is it unloving to not be more inclusive?

Actually, it would be more unloving to pretend to be inclusive, to put inclusivity above all else. That would be unloving. Just trying to make people feel better about themselves is unloving. Withholding the truth would be more unloving. If there was eminent danger for you walking down the street right now and I didn’t tell you when I knew about it, that would be unloving. [Read more…]

Do You Really Want God To Judge You?

Do You Really Want God To Judge You?

The bible verse that’s thrown in an open-air preacher’s face more than any other is Matthew 7:1 – Judge not that ye be not judged. This may very well be the most overused and misquoted verse in the Bible. If you read further past verse one, you will see that Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite. I shouldn’t preach against adultery if I’m an adulterer. Jesus isn’t saying we shouldn’t judge (in fact He tells us to judge with righteous judgment – John 7:24). Along these same lines, we frequently hear people shout “Only God can judge me.” [Read more…]

What’s Your Opinion On Homosexuality?

What’s Your Opinion On Homosexuality?

Ministry Update January 19, 2020

I was wrapping up open-air preaching at Missouri State University on Wednesday when a student walked up and asked, “What’s your opinion on homosexuality?” My reply was, “It doesn’t matter what my opinion is. The Bible is very clear on it and it’s a sin. First Corinthians 6:9-10 covers this and it’s not just the sin of homosexuality, it covers sexual relations outside of marriage, adultery, drunkards, thieves, idolaters. Every single person on earth falls into at least one of these categories.” [Read more…]

Where Did Your Original Thoughts Come From?

Where Did Your Original Thoughts Come From?

Where did your original thoughts come from? This is the question the young man asked on Wed. at MSU. After going around in circles many times, I finally figured out that the point he was trying to make is that according to his worldview, God causes evil, then it’s God’s fault when the young man does something wrong (when he sins). He said this is unfair. I told him that the potter has the right to make one vessel for honor and another vessel for dishonor (Romans 9:21). [Read more…]

Salvation Of The Lord

Salvation is of the Lord. Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost. The Lord came to save His people from their sins. Have you seen the salvation of the Lord? Have you received the salvation of the Lord? Are you saved? Have you been born again? Have you repented from your sins and surrendered your life to Jesus?  [Read more…]

Go Into All The World

Go Into All The World

Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). There are an estimated 400,000 Christian missionaries who literally take the Gospel to the farthest ends of the earth. Missionaries are in most countries around the world. But aren’t there unbelievers right here in Springfield, Missouri? Aren’t people in Springfield, MO part of God’s created beings? Isn’t Springfield, MO part of the world? [Read more…]

I Don’t Know

I Don’t Know

Last Friday Jeff was open-air preaching and he engaged several people in conversation as they walked by. One question he liked to ask was: Where will you go if you die tonight? One guy said that he’d probably go to Hell and he thinks it will be a wonderful place. (Obviously he hasn’t read how the Bible describes Hell. There are no parties there, just pain and suffering. Weeping and gnashing of teeth). But when Jeff asked a couple of young women where they think they will go, both answered “I don’t know.”  [Read more…]

Reprobate Silver

Reprobate Silver

Many people in America love money. Did you know the Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil? God doesn’t need money and He sure doesn’t worship it. In fact, this may shock you, but in Jeremiah it talks about God rejecting men and it likens them to reprobate silver. Reprobate means rejection. Can you imagine rejecting silver? If I said I had $100 worth of silver to give you, can you imagine rejecting such an offer?  [Read more…]

I’m Good

I’m Good

The sign here says Kneel To Jesus. I borrowed my friends sign because one day we will all kneel to Jesus, whether today you believe this or not. Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Today, you may be a God mocker or a God scoffer, but one day you will bow your knee, you will confess that Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. That He is right. That He is just. You will confess that Jesus is righteous.  [Read more…]

Good Catholic Boys

Ministry Update March 19, 2017

Friday night, Justin and his little brother Brayden joined me witnessing downtown. It was St. Patrick’s Day, so we weren’t too sure of what to expect. We started off singing a couple of hymns and then I brought a message We Are Not Used Car Salesmen. I wasn’t very far into the message when three young men stopped right in front of me. I asked them if they had a question and they all said no, they were just listening. But before long a couple of them said they felt like I was judging them and I shouldn’t judge them because they were good Catholics.  [Read more…]
