According to the 2018 General Society Survey, 23.1% of Americans claim no religion. That’s slightly higher than the number that claim to be Catholic (23%) and the number of evangelicals (22.5%). But these statics really shouldn’t surprise us, at least not those of us who read and believe the Bible. Many times when we are out here witnessing at St. Louis and Jefferson and we see someone driving the wrong way down Jefferson. It happened last Friday. Even though there is the way that is right, the right way to go on the one-way street, some people inevitably go the wrong way. They end up going against the traffic. [Read more…]
Friday night when I first got out of my, car I could hear Jeff preaching. Jeff and Taylor came up from Arkansas to witness and they started early. As I started walking around my car, five women asked if I would take their picture by the Springfield sign on the Discovery Center building. I said sure, took the picture and told them I had something for them and gave them all New Testaments. Then one girl asked if I witness at MSU and I told her yes. She said, “I thought I recognized you.” Then I made my way to where Jeff was preaching and a man was heckling him from across the street. The man was the first of many that said he would go to Hell. One man toward the end of the night said, “I will go straight to Hell…” [Read more…]
A friend suggested that we witness downtown Saturday night instead of Friday night. Unfortunately, my friend couldn’t make it, but Brian and I were able to hand out New Testaments and Gospel tracts. We were anticipating large crowds since Kip Moore was performing at the Gillioz Theatre at 8 pm and the St. Patricks’ Day pub crawl was scheduled to start at 9 pm. But the crowd was much smaller than we thought it would be. Even though it was a much slower night than we expected, there were some conversations. Some days street witnessing are tough and other times are a pure joy. Wednesday at Missouri State University was a very encouraging lunch hour. Thank God, 25 students took New Testaments. That would have been encouraging enough on its own, but while I was bringing a message, one student just said “Hello” and he seemed very sincere. He wasn’t mocking or trying to hinder the Gospel going forth. I took it as an encouragement. [Read more…]
I ended the time witnessing at Missouri State University on Wednesday by walking backwards. But praise God, 20 students graciously received New Testaments before I brought a message. One gentleman that said he didn’t need a New Testament was a Navy veteran. I thanked him for his service and he said it was his pleasure. Then he said that he mainly just read reports. I’m out here today to praise the Lord. This is the day that the Lord has made. As believers we say thank God or praise the Lord and we really do mean it when we say it. Yes, we thank God and praise God for He is good. We thank God when things go well. There are probably even unbelievers who thank God and praise God when they make it through a cancer scare or maybe when they nearly escape a car accident. [Read more…]
