Were the 10 Commandments really only for the people who lived during the Old Testament times? Is the New Testament all grace and no law? It is true that God gave the Israelites the 10 Commandments after He delivered them from Egypt (Exodus 20). It pleased God to bruise His Son on our behalf. This shows exactly how seriously God takes our sins! There’s nothing we can do on our own to atone for our sins against our Holy God. Have you received the most amazing gift of salvation? Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Have you repented and believed the Gospel? (Mark 1:15).
Jesus bore our griefs and carried our sorrows while He hung on the cross. He bore our griefs. He carried our sorrows. Have you confessed and forsaken your sins? Have you turned all your problems over to our Lord? Have your put your trust in Jesus Christ?
Jesus was fully God and fully man. I don’t know about you, but when I read about the miracles that Jesus performed, I sometimes envision Him as looking like a super human being. But read the words of Isaiah in chapter 53:2.
I have an old high school friend who tells me every now and then that I need to slow down my religious posts on Facebook. He’s concerned that I’m coming on too strong. In fact he recently described what I’m doing on Facebook as “Facebook pulpit overdrive.” I appreciate his comments and his concerns, but I don’t see myself backing off any time soon. [Read more…]
Never doubt that you are loved. God loves each and every one of us. In fact the Bible says that He loved us while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). So what are you doing with this great love? Are you receiving it by submitting your life to Jesus Christ our Lord? Or are you rejecting this amazing love?
I am a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. No matter who they play, I’m always rooting for the Cardinals to win. (I’m also a Kansas City Chief’s football fan, but they don’t give me a whole lot to cheer about, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m a fan anyway).
