Who do you love? A spouse, a child, a friend? What do you love? What consumes your thoughts and your dreams? What consumes your time, energy and money? What do you love the most in this world? Who do you love in this world, more than anyone else? Who has your heart? Who or what do you truly love? [Read more…]

Total Recall

Some people can remember most of what they read and see. In fact, some people even have a photographic memory. I am not one of them. I have a hard time remembering what I ate for lunch yesterday. But other people remember everything in great detail. Albert Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He doesn’t have a photographic memory, but it’s pretty close to one. He reads several different newspapers every day and then he talks about the most important issues for about 15 or 20 minutes. He does this every morning, Monday through Friday and he does The Briefing without a script. He truly has an amazing memory. [Read more…]

We are Americans. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are independent people. We don’t want anyone to tell us what to do. We like to be in charge. We want to be on our own. We want to do what we want, when we want, where we want. That’s the American way. But tonight I want to ask you: Who do you serve? [Read more…]

Will Your Name Be Remembered?

Who won the Oscar in 1969 for Best Actor? Which actor has an airport named after them? Which actor was known as The Duke? If you answered John Wayne for all three of these questions you would be correct. John Wayne won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1969 for True Grit. He died in 1979 and Orange County renamed the airport John Wayne Airport that same year and he was known as The Duke. I wonder if Millennials even know who John Wayne was and I’m sure a very small number even care. So if he’s barely remembered (by young people) now 35 years after his death, will he be remembered in 50 more years? [Read more…]

Ignorance is Not Bliss

National Corvette Museum Sinkhole

We’ve all heard the saying that “ignorance is bliss.” There are times when I know things that I really wish that I didn’t know them or I wish that I could “un-know” them, but it doesn’t work that way. Besides, most of the time ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance just puts off the inevitable. If there was a sinkhole under your house that could collapse at any moment; wouldn’t you want to know this fact as soon as possible? [Read more…]

Repent! Repent! Repent!

Seek and Save Turn Sinner Website

Repent. Sadly, this word is not used in most of our churches in America. We have watered down the Gospel so much that it isn’t even the Gospel anymore. It’s a counterfeit. It’s a fake. Most preachers and “professing” Christians alike tell you that if you accept Jesus into your heart that your life will become wonderful, because God has a wonderful plan for your life. You just need to add Jesus to what you already have and life will be super great – you can have your best life now. Folks, this watered down false gospel is no Gospel at all (Galatians 1:6-9). But it’s easy for people to swallow down and it just as easily runs right on out of their bodies. It is worthless and all it does is coddle people all the way to Hell (2 Corinthians 4:4). Climbing on Monkey Bars

Monkey Bars Website Pic

I love the Gospel according to John, especially chapter 10. It is such a rich chapter. Jesus starts off telling the scribes and the Pharisees that they are thieves and robbers in verse 1. They were supposed to be the religious leaders of the people; but they weren’t leading the Jewish people at all. They merely burdened them with all of their man-made rules. (Don’t worry; I will get to the monkey bars later on). [Read more…]
