Your Worldview Is Illogical

If you believe in evolution, if you are an atheist, then your worldview is illogical. That’s right, I’m calling you out on your worldview. If you really believe that we evolved from nothing, that nothing created everything, your worldview is illogical. It makes no sense. Never in your life have seen something create itself out of nothing. Last Friday Jeff was open-air preaching and he engaged several people in conversation as they walked by. One question he liked to ask was: Where will you go if you die tonight? One guy said that he’d probably go to Hell and he thinks it will be a wonderful place. (Obviously he hasn’t read how the Bible describes Hell. There are no parties there, just pain and suffering. Earlier in the week it looked like I was going to be witnessing downtown Friday night by myself and I must confess I was a little bitter about it. God convicted me over my bitterness, I prayed for His forgiveness and received it. God was going to be glorified even if all that happened were a few tracts handed out. Do Atheists need a new name? I run into people all the time who claim that they are atheists and they vehemently say, “God is not real” or “there is no God.” They are very adamant in their stance. Atheists do not believe that God exists. The original meaning in the Greek is without God. But atheists aren’t neutral to this God they say doesn’t exist. On Wednesday at Missouri State University, I had two for me and two against me but that doesn’t make it even. Witnessing isn’t like a tug of war. Quiet All Around

Ministry Update February 25, 2018

Some weeks street witnessing are really exciting. Others are more on the dull side. This week witnessing was quiet all around. Polly and I witnessed downtown in Springfield, MO in the rain on Friday night. Obviously, there weren’t a lot of people out milling around, but there were a few. A couple of people up the street appeared to be listening to part of the message, but overall it was rather quiet. It also was raining enough that we really didn’t get to hand out any tracts. But the Gospel went forth and I pray that God was honored by the precious name of Jesus Christ being lifted up in the open-air.   [Read more…]

We Worship The Same God

Ministry Update February 18, 2018

Kelly and I witnessed downtown Friday night and there seemed to be more people walking around than usual. While I was bringing a message, two Muslims walked up to Kelly. One was recording my message as they talked. They told Kelly that we worship the same God. Kelly politely told them that we do not worship the same God. He talked about Jesus saying that He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). They mostly talked in Arabic so obviously Kelly didn’t know what they were saying.  [Read more…]

Misjudging God

In 2 Chronicles 32:1-22, the Bible tells us of an Assyrian king that greatly misjudged God. King Sennacherib had defeated many nations when he set his sights on Judah. Sennacherib even taunted the people of the city of Jerusalem, telling them not to let their king – Hezekiah deceive them into thinking that his God could withstand him. Polly and I witnessed downtown Friday night. While I was open-air preaching, Mohammed Ali walked up and stood between us. Polly smiled at him and he started asking her questions. Mohammed Ali is from the Middle East. He asked her questions about her faith and the Trinity and she answered him. Then he wanted to know why I was open-air preaching. She suggested that he stick around because she was sure that I was about to finish up. Polly was right about that and I had the opportunity to talk to Mohammed Ali about the true God.  [Read more…]
