Limited Time Offer!

November 10, 2011 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

We’ve all seen the TV commercials where they say, “Act now, this limited time offer won’t last long.” Then you see the same infomercial on TV for the next six months, if not years. So they really aren’t a limited time offer. [Read more…]

The Greatest Present of All Time

When I was around 7 or 8 years old, I wanted a BB gun really bad. I was ecstatic when I opened that present that year. Up to that point in my life, that was the best present a boy could open on Christmas morning (and yes, I got into a lot of trouble with that BB gun). [Read more…]

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to Thanksgiving Day. I look forward to eating turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and there is usually wonderful desert (even though I don’t like pumpkin pie, the rest of my family loves it). [Read more…]

Socrates versus Jesus?

September 7, 2010 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 1 Comment

I was watching a guy on youtube the other day and he said that he was going to follow Socrates. What in the world was he talking about?

He went on to say that he didn’t believe in God or Jesus, so he was going to believe in Socrates. Socrates was a wise person and he was going to follow him. He said that Socrates never said that you had to believe everything he said or you would end up in Hell. That is true. Socrates never said that. But Socrates wasn’t the Son of God. Socrates was a mere mortal like you and me. Socrates didn’t always speak the truth and only the truth. Socrates sometimes gave us his opinion. [Read more…]

No More Condemnation

I thought I was saved, spiritually born again at age 11. I now know that I was not saved back then. I only truly became a follower of Jesus Christ about three years ago. How can I be so sure that I was a false convert when I was 11 years old? [Read more…]

No Other Name Under Heaven

A lot of people have nicknames. I know a couple of people who are called “Blue” and another friend of mine is called “Coup”. I’m sure you know people who have nicknames too. I was thinking about this the other day when the Bible verse Acts 4:12 came to me, it says “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” This verse of course is referring to Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10). Jesus Christ is the only name in which salvation can be obtained.

There is nothing we can do on our own for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). I am thankful that Jesus is my Lord (who leads me daily) as well as Savior. Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? What name are you trusting in? Who are you counting on for everlasting life? There is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Trust Him. Trust in His name. Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this today and be saved.

If God is Real, Why is There so Much Suffering?

January 20, 2010 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

You have probably heard people say things like: There is so much pain and suffering in the world, how can God be real? Or why does God cause natural disasters like hurricanes, earth quakes and tornados? These are valid questions. If God is real, why is there so much suffering in the world?

We need to remember that in the beginning, God made the earth and that it was good (Gen. 1:10). God made Adam and Eve and He also made the garden of Eden, which was perfect. Because Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God sent them out of the garden of Eden (Gen. 3:23). God also told Adam that because of his sin, the ground would be cursed. Pain and suffering don’t prove that God isn’t real, they back up what God tells us in the Bible.

We live in a fallen world. We are sinners too, just like Adam and Eve. We too have rebelled against God. Are you still rebelling now? Or have you surrendered your life to Jesus? The world won’t always be like this. Believers in Jesus Christ are looking forward to the new heaven and the new earth, where there will be no more pain and suffering. I can’t wait. Unbelievers will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8)
