There was an Awaken The Dawn event in the park next to our normal witnessing spot Friday night, so Conner and I witnessed at the corner of South and Walnut. We encountered many mockers there and after we both brought messages and handed out tracts, we went back to our normal witnessing spot. There, we also encountered more mockers. But in addition to the mockers, we also heard a phrase that we’ve heard many times while witnessing downtown: I go to church. [Read more…]
Every Friday night street witnessing is different. We never know what we are going to encounter. Sometimes mockers, other times encouragers and periodically both. Last week there were many of us witnessing and this week only two of us. My friends and I lift up the precious name of Jesus because He is worthy of all honor, praise and glory. He is the only Redeemer. Jesus is the only Savior. He is the sinless Son of the living God. When the Lord made His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the religious leaders didn’t like it that the crowd was praising Jesus and they said He should make the people quit. Since this was finals week at Missouri State University, I decided to hand out Gospel tracts and not open-air preach on Wednesday. I prayed and hoped that 200 students would take tracts and they did. Praise God for that and may the Lord bless and multiply the tracts. It was fun doing something a little different. On Wednesday I witnessed at Missouri State University. Had a mocker or two and then Quinn the atheist buzzed by me. I told him that I’m talking to Christians this week about sharing the Gospel. But I invited him to come back next week and I would challenge his worldview. A few minutes later he came back and started reading Green Eggs and Ham out loud. Young Man Wouldn’t Let Go Of The New Testament
Friday night before Thomas joined me witnessing downtown, I handed out several tracts. A group of guys all took tracts. One of the guys stopped and thanked me for being out there. He told me that his mom has been after him to get right with God. I told him that his mom is telling right, he needs to get right with God. Then surprisingly, the guy admitted to me that he is a drunk (his own words). I exhorted him that he needs to repent and trust Jesus (Galatians 5:21). [Read more…]

In today’s world of tolerance, there is one particular group of people that is ok to pick on. There’s one group of people that it seems like it’s politically correct to degrade and harass. There is one group of people that it is the “in” thing to shame and that’s Christians. Today’s tolerant world is very intolerant toward Christians. In fact, we see Christian shaming all the time. We run into a lot of people while out street witnessing who think they are good. Many of these folks think that they are good enough to go to Heaven. That God will weigh their good against their bad and if they’ve done more good, they think they will make it. A lot of these same people also think that they can work their way to Heaven.
