We Follow Satan
Ministry Update November 25, 2024

Anand, two of his daughters and I handed out tracts last Friday on a cold, quiet night. But the strangest interaction was with a couple that refused tracts. They said no to me and then as they turned the corner, Anand’s daughters tried to hand them tracts too. But they refused them and the man yelled out, “We follow Satan!” So I yelled after him, “Satan can’t save you.” “Yes he can,” the man replied. So I stated, “Only Jesus can save you. Satan will be right there next to you in Hell, but you won’t care about him and he won’t care about you.” By that point, they were too far away to say anything else.

The only real conversation was one that Anand had with a young man named Evan. Anand handed him a a tract and told him that it’s a Gospel tract. Evan said that he was a Christian, so Anand asked him how he came to faith. The young man couldn’t say. So Anand asked him if he’s going to Heaven and Evan said, “I hope I’m good enough.” Anand gently explained to him that the Bible says none of us are good. That’s why we need Jesus – we need the perfect One who bore our punishment to save us. We pray that God will convict and convert Evan.

 Don’t You Have A Job?

I handed out tracts last Wednesday at Missouri State University during the lunch hour. (I had just posted a couple of days earlier on Facebook how there seemed to be a different spirit on campus this year. I wasn’t even open-air preaching this day, just handing out Gospel tracts. All the mockers saved it up for this day). One girl refused a tract and said, “I’m not into cults.” I replied, “That’s a good thing, because I’m not into cults either.” Another girl yelled an emphatic NO! Then toward the end of my time there, a girl walked by and said, “Why are you always here on Wednesdays? Don’t you have a job?” (That one cracked me up). I told her that I do have a job, but I’m worried about her eternal soul, even if she isn’t.

Then the girl from last week that grew up atheist also walked by. I was handing out What Is The Meaning of Life tracts from Living Waters. I directed her to their website (again). Hopefully she will go there since she’s the one wanting to witness to her friends.

May God bless the tracts that were handed out downtown and on the campus. These updates are provided to encourage Christians to share their faith in Jesus with others. It’s easy to hand out a tract and say, “Did you get one of these?”

Am I Welcome At Your Church?

Ministry Updates for March 22, 2024 and March 15, 2024

Conner, Joshua, Michael and I witnessed downtown on Friday March 15, 2024. We were out there for about two and a half hours and mainly handed out tracts. Joshua got into a couple of conversations and I had a short one with one young man. But we spent most of the night talking to one guy. He was out trying to get signatures for a petition, but none of us wanted to sign it. He got into a conversation first off with Joshua, then Conner and myself and then kept bouncing back and forth between us. His main contention was that the Bible was written by men and his other burning question was, “Am I welcome at your church?”

Joshua engaged him first in a conversation. The young man wanted to know how the God of the Bible was the real one when there are so many gods out there. I think he said that he worships the Norse gods. He kept going down one rabbit hole after another. Conner also engaged him in a conversation, but he kept going back to these same things. Finally, I told him that I’m really out here talking about Jesus Christ and I started witnessing to him. That’s when he told us that he’s bisexual and lives with a man. He wanted to know if he’d be welcome to come to my church. I told him that he is welcome to come there. I will call the young man C. He said that he’d be there Sunday morning. Sadly, he didn’t show up.

I wanted to make sure that he didn’t misunderstand me, so I pointed out that God doesn’t approve of his lifestyle. The Bible doesn’t, I don’t and my church doesn’t. But everyone is welcome to worship at church.  Then he wanted to know where the Bible condemns homosexuality (not counting Leviticus). So I read to him Mark 10:6-9 where Jesus says that marriage is between a man and a woman. Conner directed him to Romans 1:18-32. Later on, we also had him read 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Written By Men

He kept going back to the Bible was just written by men. But the Bible was written by men that were inspired through the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16). I point out that we know the Bible is true because we see it time and time again when we are street witnessing. He kept denying God and the Bible, so I kept pointing him back to Romans 1:18 where he suppresses the truth in unrighteousness. At one point he said that he lost someone really close to him and that he begged God to show him a sign. He said even if the wind had blown, he would have counted it. But nothing. Then he brought up how God gave Gideon a sign three times. I gently reminded C that Jesus said an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign (Matthew 12:39).

I told him that I was sorry that he lost someone close to him and that God didn’t comfort him through that time. I told C that I also lost someone close to me and I know it isn’t easy to go through. Then I asked him if I could pray for him and he said yes. We all gathered around him and I prayed for him and for his salvation. C told us that he grew up in a Christian home but was no longer a Christian. We pointed out to him that we don’t believe that he was ever truly a Christian because you can’t walk away from Jesus if you are truly saved because Jesus never leaves or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5). Then I asked him if he had a Bible at home and he said no. I asked if he’d read it if we gave him one and he said yes. Michael quickly handed him a Bible.

We had C read Scripture several times after that. I told C that I was praying that he’d start reading the Bible that very night. He replied that I would have an unanswered prayer then if he didn’t read it. I pointed out to him that he was correct. That I would have an unanswered prayer, but that if he continues  rebelling against God, that he’d be the one who dies in his sins and would spend eternity in Hell. I pleaded with him to read Romans since we had quoted from there and then I encouraged him to go back and read the Gospels starting with Matthew. We hope and pray that he will read the Bible and that God will save him and his friend.

Hope I Go To Heaven

Friday the 22nd of March was quite windy and cold. Anand, Michael, Conner, one of his daughters and I witnessed downtown. We were handing out tracts and I handed them to a couple of Hispanic guys who said they live in Carthage. They wanted to know what I handed them and I told them, “They are Gospel tracts. They tell you about Jesus.” I asked if they know Jesus and the one wearing a cross said yes, they know Him. So then I asked them if they are saved and they both said yes. Then I asked if they are going to Heaven and one said yes, but the other one said, “I hope I go to Heaven.”

I told him that I wasn’t picking on him, but I wanted to know how hope gets you to Heaven. He shrugged his shoulders. His friend said that you get there by going to church. So I gently said, “I’m not picking on you either, but how does going to church get you to Heaven?” Then he replied that we get there by doing good. At that point, I asked them if they had kept the 10 Commandments. They both acknowledged that they had broken them. So you really can’t go to Heaven by being good since we’ve all sinned against God and we’ve all broken the 10 Commandments. At that point I shared the Gospel with them. I asked them both to read the tracts. They shook our hands and headed on their way.

Not long after that, Conner got into a conversation with another guy out trying to get petition signatures. This time it was for “Women’s Reproductive Healthcare”. Conner engaged him in a conversation. The young man kept talking about rape and abortion being necessary sometimes to save the life of a mother. Conner was the only one he talked to, so I didn’t interrupt. But I’ve heard several doctors say that they never once had to kill a baby in order to save the mother’s life. I would also point people to the Bible where Joseph’s wife Rachel, died during child birth (Genesis 35:16-19). God didn’t tell Joseph to kill Benjamin in order to save Rachel’s life. It’s very sad when a woman dies during childbirth, but murdering a child is never right. Michael got into a long conversation with an older gentleman. I didn’t get an update on that conversation, but we pray that God will save both men as well as others who received tracts.

(These updates are provided to encourage Christians to share their faith in Jesus with others)

Go On To Hell

August 10, 2023 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Go On To Hell

One of my all-time favorite preachers is Rolfe Barnard. Brother Barnard brought it when he preached. I’ve listened to over 400 of his sermons online. But when I recommend him to my family and friends, they all say the same thing. They can’t take the yelling. I admit that I hate it when he yelled, just because that’s when he was trying to make the main point and I can’t hear what he saying because he’s yelling too loudly. But in the next breath, he’d plead “Why don’t you come to Jesus” and you can hear the pleading in his voice. But one of the most shocking things he’d say is “Go on to Hell, that’s where you want to go anyway.”

Brother Barnard used to preach a lot of revivals back in the 1950’s and 1960’s and I believe the Holy Ghost convicted many souls back that then. He tells the story that one time he was asked to preach for 3 or 4 weeks and the only condition was that he couldn’t give an altar call until the end. Rolfe readily agreed to that. He believed that we tried to soothe unbelievers with an easy-believism salve when they needed was to fester and be convicted by the Holy Ghost. So for three weeks he preached his heart out and at the end of each night he’d end by saying, “Go on to Hell, that’s where you want to go anyway.” We’ll after 3 weeks of being convicted by the Holy Ghost, people couldn’t stand it any longer and they begged Brother Barnard to give an altar call which he finally did.

Star Dust And Other Nonsense

I’m relaying this story because I think I’ve only ever used that line one time while out witnessing. I was witnessing with some friends on the square in downtown Springfield, Mo and a cocky Atheist started talking to me. I’m not an apologist. I don’t have the patience for it. No, I’m an open-air preacher and a street evangelist, but no apologist. I don’t like getting into long debates. I just want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll listen to your star dust theories and that everything came from a tiny dot that exploded, etc. But after you tell me what you believe, I want to share the glorious Gospel with you.

That night, this Atheist told me that we are all just star dust and other such non-sense. I kept trying to steer him back to Jesus, but he kept wandering off various rabbit trails. So after about 30 minutes or so of this, I finally said, “Look, it’s obvious that I could talk to you till I’m blue in the face and you aren’t going to change your mind. So have a nice life. Eat, drink and be merry and then go on to Hell because that’s where you want to go anyway.” You should have seen the look on his face. He started stammering around saying, “You can’t say that?” “Why not?” “Because you’re a Christian!”

I explained to him that what I was saying is was true. Nothing I said or was going to say was going to change his mind. The Bible says unbelievers know that God is real (Romans 1:18-22), but they pretend that He isn’t because they love their sins (John 3:19-20). Because they don’t want to be responsible to God (Matthew 12:36). So they act like God doesn’t exist. But they know that He does exist and they know that they will be accountable to Him. The young man walked away still saying that I couldn’t say that to him. But I did and who knows, maybe God wanted to shock him out of his complacency. Again, I don’t think I’ve ever used it any other time, but I did that time.

Are You Wicked?

Are You Wicked?

This is a serious question: Are you wicked? Absolutely not you might say. So why am I even asking this question? Because God has some harsh things to say about the wicked. God hates all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5). God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). But here’s the really scary one: The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God (Psalm 9:17).

The wicked shall be turned into Hell. This should frighten every single person that is not a follower of Jesus. If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, you should have sleepless nights. The terrors of Hell should frighten you nearly to death. You should tremble and fear. Yes, you should shake in your shoes. The demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). Why do they tremble? Because even though they know God is real, they know they follow Satan and they are on the losing side. They know that they have Hell to pay!

So why are you listening to this with no fear and trembling? Because you don’t believe that you are one of the wicked ones. When I say this, I’m talking specifically to unbelievers. Those of us who are truly saved, know that God has saved us out of our wretchedness and we have surrendered our lives to Jesus. But for those of you who are hearing this and are not saved, you most likely have no fear because you don’t see yourself as wicked. You ignore the warnings and hearing about God being angry with the wicked didn’t faze you at all because you think that you are not wicked. [Read more…]

Absolutely Not!

Absolutely Not!

Ministry Update June 4, 2023

A couple of short (sad) encounters stood out Friday night while we were witnessing downtown. A group of people refused tracts so Joshua asked them if they know where they are going? One young man said that he knew and implied that it was wonderful (sounding like he’s going to Heaven). Joshua then asked him how he’s going to get there and the young man replied that he didn’t have to share that information. I reminded him that Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). If you aren’t willing to share the Good News, you probably aren’t really saved. I couldn’t hear what the young man mumbled after that.

Then I tried to hand a tract to a couple of young women and they both refused. So I asked them if they know Jesus and the one said, “Absolutely not!” I told her to have a nice life because she’s going to have a horrible afterlife. Hell is real and repentance and faith in Jesus is the only way to avoid it. Most people didn’t react that way Friday night. Most of the people who refused tracts just said no thank you and we told them to have a good night. But when we encounter a really hard-hearted person, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with warning them of the reality of Hell and that they are headed for that awful place.

Group Friday night – Anand and his family, Michael and Joshua.

Evangelist Family

Anand, his wife and five children joined Joshua, Michael and I witnessing Friday night. I always love to see families come out. Anand’s daughters were fun to watch handing out tracts and his wife mainly watched the girls and made sure they had tracts, but when they missed a person, Anand’s wife was quick to offer a tract. Again, it was a real blessing to have his whole family come out. Since there were so many of them in one family, Joshua and I went across the street to a different corner to witness. Michael joined us later on. I brought a short message and didn’t have any mockers or encouragers.

Earlier in the night, I handed a tract to a guy named Antoine. I told him that it was a Gospel tract that tells you about Jesus. He made a positive comment so I asked him if he’s a Christian and he said that is. When I asked him how he came to faith in Jesus, he said it was when he hit rock bottom. He cried out for God to save him. Antoine didn’t have a Bible, so I gave him a New Testament. But he knew Bible verses as we talked with him. Joshua quoted him many Scriptures and Antoine kept saying Amen and quoted Bible verses too. He doesn’t currently have a church home, so Joshua gave him an invite card to South Creek Baptist Church. Talking to Antoine was the best conversation of the night that I was involved with. My friends and I also had a great time of fellowship and we pray that God will bless the tracts that were handed out.

(These updates are given to encourage Christians to share the Good News with others)

God’s Wrath Went Forth

Gods Wrath Went Forth

After God led the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt, they rebelled against Him time and time again. They made a golden calf and worshiped it as well as some of them wanted to go back to Egypt. Another time they rebelled against God and He sent firey serpents among them. Other times God sent plagues. When you read the Old Testament accounts of their disobedience, then God’s wrath went forth.

Even after the Israelites entered the promised land, they continued rebelling against God. His wrath went forth and He allowed other nations to conquer Israel and Judah. Eventually, the Lord allowed the Israelites to be carried off to far away lands. They rebelled and God’s wrath went forth again.

Whirlwind Of The Lord Is Gone Forth

Jeremiah describes such rebellion and God’s wrath in Jeremiah 23. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked (Jeremiah 23:16-19).

God’s wrath went forth like a whirlwind of fury. We might describe it nowadays as going forth like a tornado. Either way, God’s wrath went forth. You may be thinking, well, that’s all fine and dandy. That was in the Old Testament. But folks, the New Testament also talks about God’s wrath. Romans 1:18-19:  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

God’s Wrath Still Goes Forth Today

That’s right, God’s wrath still goes forth today. Romans 1 goes on to tell us that God turns unrepentant sinners over to a reprobate heart. In other words, you want to disobey God, live like there is no God, then God removes His hands of mercy from you, then you live your life to your wicked heart’s desire. You call evil good and good evil. You live sexually immoral lives and continue in debauchery. Make no mistake, even though you may not feel God’s wrath, His whirlwind of wrath is upon you.

Romans 2 continues in that you are just storing up more wrath against the day of wrath. In other words, you are heaping up more of God’s wrath against you that will be poured out against you for all eternity. Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile (Romans 2:4-9).

You Aren’t Getting Away With Your Sins

Oh, folks, don’t continue barreling down the road to destruction, foolishly thinking that since God doesn’t wipe you off the face of the earth today, that you are getting away with your sins. No, your hard heart is just becoming more and more seared over. You really are just storing up more wrath against the day of wrath. God will render to everyone what they deserve.

What do we deserve? We all deserve eternal damnation. Every man and woman on this earth deserves the firey flames of Hell and we deserve to suffer those flames for all eternity. Oh, but you do not have to foolishly die in your sins and go to Hell. No, you can be saved today – through repentance and faith in Jesus.

The Lord Jesus is the only Savior of mankind. There is no other. Buddha can’t save you. Muhammad can’t save you. The pope can’t save you. Only Jesus saves. Why? Because He is the only perfect, sinless One. Unlike you and I, Jesus never sinned. Not one time. Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary. The Lord walked this earth 2,000 years ago and He never sinned in His thoughts, words or deeds.

Can you say that? Have you lived a perfect, sinless life? Of course not. How many lies have you told in your life? How many times have you stolen something? How many times have you lusted or coveted someone or something? Do you always honor your parents? Have you ever loved someone or something more than you love God? I hope you are seeing that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

Jesus Willingly Went To The Cross

That’s why we need the salvation that is found in Christ alone. Not only was Jesus always perfect and sinless, but He willingly went to the cruel cross where He suffered God’s anger over sin, God’s whirlwind of wrath. He took the punishment for sinners who repent and trust in Him. The Bible says that Jesus was the propitiation for our sins. Propitiation means that God’s wrath was satisfied when He poured His righteous anger out upon His own precious Son.

That shows you how much God hates sin! Someone has to be punished over sin and Jesus willingly took that punishment, that is, for His people. Jesus suffered, bled and died on the cross. He was buried and rose victoriously from the grave three days later. Jesus defeated sin, death, Hell and Satan. Salvation is for all who repent and surrender their lives to the Lord. Jesus came to save His people from their sins.

Oh, tonight, you are either lost or saved. You are spiritually dead in your trespasses and sins or you are alive in Christ. God’s wrath remains upon you or your sins have been forgiven. Which is it? God’s wrath went forth in the past, is still going forth today and will go forth for all eternity upon all who die in their sins. Jesus says that unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins (John 8:24).

Only Two Ways To Die

There are only two ways to die. 1. Die in your sins. 2. Die in Christ. There is no third option. You say that you don’t believe in Christ Jesus? Then you will foolishly die in your sins. Unbelief is to die outside of Christ. Rebellion is to die outside of Jesus. Unrepentant is to die outside of the Lord. Oh, don’t do it. Don’t foolishly die in your sins. Do not continue hardening your hard heart. Do not reject such a great salvation. Instead, repent and believe the Gospel.

For those of you who want to continue mocking God, who want to continue going your own way. Listen to the warning tonight. Jesus talked about Hell more than anybody else in the Bible. The Lord says Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca (foolish), shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire (Matthew 5:21-22).

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart (Matthew 5:27-28). It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery (Matthew 5:27-32).

Their Worm Dieth Not And The Fire Is Not Quenched

And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:42-48).

Don’t Continue With God’s Wrath Abiding Upon You

The Bible describes Hell as place of never-ending torment. Where the smoke of their fire rises forever and ever. They have no rest day or night (Revelation 14:11). In Revelation 21:7-8, Jesus says: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:7-8).

Oh, don’t continue with God’s wrath abiding upon you. Instead, repent and surrender your life to Jesus. Trust the Lord to save you. Repent and believe the Gospel. Turn to Christ and live. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent (John 17:3). He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36). Believe in Jesus and be saved or God’s wrath will continue abiding upon you. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved.

Do Not Be Deceived

Do Not Be Deceived

Some people believe some crazy things – especially when it comes to religion. If you don’t believe me, come out street witnessing with us. You’ll hear people say that we are star dust and God haters will say that ultimately nothing created everything. (How much do you have to hate God to believe this nonsense?) But sadly, others are deceived through false religions and maybe the worst of all are the people that are so deceived that they come up with their own religion. But the Bible warns us – do not be deceived.

When I say some people have made their own religion, I mean they may take some things from the Bible and add or subtract from it (and the Bible warns us not to do this). For example, it’s been said that Thomas Jefferson took out the supernatural – all the miracles of Jesus and only used the moral teachings of Jesus for Jefferson’s Bible. Now most unbelievers that we meet on the streets don’t go to that extreme, but they are making their own “god” or their own religion when they reject Jesus – the only Savior of mankind. [Read more…]

Knowing Is Not Enough

Knowing Is Not Enough

Springfield Missouri is in the Bible Belt. A lot of people around here have grown up in church. Most people in our area know the Gospel. They know the facts about Jesus, how he came to this earth 2,000 years ago. How Jesus is the Son of God and how He took the punishment that guilty people deserve. Yes, many people know how Jesus suffer, bled and died on the cross, was buried and rose again the third day. A lot of people know this, but knowing is not enough.

Just knowing the facts about salvation is not the same thing as salvation itself. Yes, everything I just said is true. Jesus did suffer, bleed and die on the cruel cross and He rose victoriously from the grave three days later. Jesus defeated sin, death, Hell and Satan. This is all true. But knowing these facts do not save you. Again, knowing is not enough.

Unloving?

July 7, 2022 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Unloving?

While out street witnessing, sometimes we get accused of being unloving. We are accused of being unloving because we talk about the exclusivity of Jesus. That Jesus Christ is the only Savior. So I ask you, is it unloving to say that Jesus is the only way of salvation? Is it unloving to not be more inclusive?

Actually, it would be more unloving to pretend to be inclusive, to put inclusivity above all else. That would be unloving. Just trying to make people feel better about themselves is unloving. Withholding the truth would be more unloving. If there was eminent danger for you walking down the street right now and I didn’t tell you when I knew about it, that would be unloving. [Read more…]

Jesus Never Said That

Jesus Never Said That

Ministry Update July 3, 2022

Friday night was such a blessing. Praise God, there were 11 of us out witnessing Friday night. Trevor, Elly, their two girls, Joshua, Tyail, Chase and his wife Myeisha (and their baby), Reed, Matthew and myself. There was open-air preaching, conversations and tracts handed out as well as great fellowship. But the thing that stood out the most to me were the things that were said, including the woman who yelled, “Jesus never said that.”

Trevor, Joshua, Reed and I were standing on one corner when the pedal pub (trolley) peddled past us. Trevor spoke up to the people at the pedal bar, “Repent of your sins, turn to Christ and you will be saved.” As they peddled around the corner a woman yelled back, “Jesus never said that.” So I yelled back, “Yes He did. Jesus said unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. That’s Luke 13:3.” I encouraged her to read the Bible for herself so she’ll know what it really says. They were moving away from us or I would have also added the very first message Jesus preached was repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:14-15).

Guy That Says Jesus Will Never Find Him

I Will Never Find Jesus

Before this, I tried to hand a tract to a guy and he shook his head no and said, “I will never find Jesus.” It was a very sad comment. But he kept walking, so I couldn’t really talk to him. I just replied that unfortunately that means that Hell awaits him. He just shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. If people really understood how horrible Hell really is, they would not be so nonchalant about it. Then later a man and woman refused a tract and he just shook his head no. When they walked back by, Joshua tried to hand a tract to him, but he shook his head no again and put his fingers in the shape of an X and held his fingers near the tracts Joshua was holding.

Before all of us got to the witnessing spot, Chase got into a conversation with an atheist. She took a tract and they talked for quite a while. I think he got her to understand that she really doesn’t know right from wrong without taking it from a Christian world view. While I was bringing a message, a guy stopped across the street, flipped me off and yelled something. I just kept on with the message. But Matthew was nearby and he got into a conversation with the guy and they talked for 20 or 30 minutes. Reed also got into a long conversation with a different guy. Trevor and Chase also brought messages. One driver slowed down and encouraged Elly as she was handing out tracts. All in all, it was a good night and may God bless the conversations, the messages and the tracts that were handed out.
