There are many false religions in the world today. You can quickly tell the counterfeits from the one true Gospel and there is only one true Gospel. All world religions focus on man working his way to Heaven or man trying to become God. Everyone following a cult is busy trying to earn their way to Heaven, which is impossible (Ephesians 2:8-9) or they are trying to become God or they have put themselves in the place of God – such as atheists. What Does It Take to Get Into Hell?

I go out witnessing in Springfield, MO with Greg Marlin and his group Born of Him Ministries. Most of us have been trained by the Way of the Master training of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. Usually, when we are out witnessing we get around to some form of the question, “Are you good enough to go to heaven?”

The other day I heard an audio recording of evangelism training by Mark Spence (he’s associated with Ray Comfort’s Living Waters Ministry). He changed the question a little bit by asking, “What do you think it takes for you to get into Hell?” I love this question! Most people think they are good by man’s standards (and by man’s standards they are right).

In every other religion in the world you have to DO something. In all the other religions you have to “earn” your way into heaven. Men in these false religions are trying to reach God by their works. The problem with these religions (besides being Christ-less) is that how do you determine when you have done enough? No Other Name Under Heaven

A lot of people have nicknames. I know a couple of people who are called “Blue” and another friend of mine is called “Coup”. I’m sure you know people who have nicknames too. I was thinking about this the other day when the Bible verse Acts 4:12 came to me, it says “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” This verse of course is referring to Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10). Jesus Christ is the only name in which salvation can be obtained.

There is nothing we can do on our own for salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9). I am thankful that Jesus is my Lord (who leads me daily) as well as Savior. Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? What name are you trusting in? Who are you counting on for everlasting life? There is no other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Trust Him. Trust in His name. Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this today and be saved.
