Only Two Conversations

Ministry Update September 1, 2019

Conner and I had only two conversations while witnessing downtown Friday night, but they basically lasted the whole time we were there. We started off handing out New Testaments and Gospel tracts. Right off the bat I tried to hand New Testaments to Ryan and Renee. He laughed and told me that he had a ton of these at home. So I said, “Do you read them?” He replied that he did and then he asked where we go to church. I told him I go to Crossway Baptist Church and Conner goes to Hope Baptist Church. Then Ryan told me that he “home” churches and that they are Mormons. [Read more…]

Jesus Would Never Say That

Ministry Update May 26, 2019

We had another blessed time witnessing downtown Friday night. Scotty McCreery was performing at the Gilloz Theatre and the weather was perfect, especially after all the recent storms. So there was good foot traffic and we had the usual mix of mockers and encouragers. But while I was bringing a message about condemnation and Jesus saying those who don’t believe will be damned a guy stopped to talk to Pastor Joshua and told him Jesus would never say that. What Day Was Jesus Born On?

Ministry Update May 19 2019

Pastor Joshua, Kelly, Conner and I had a great time witnessing Friday night where there were some interesting conversations. All four of us did open-air preaching. Gospel tracts and New Testaments were handed out. We always have a great time visiting. But the short conversation that ended the night was a guy that was concerned about the actual day of Jesus’ birth. He kept asking us, “What day was Jesus born on?” [Read more…]

I Gotta Stop With The Devils Lettuce

Ministry Update April 7, 2019

With these updates, many times I say what a blessed night we had witnessing downtown, and Friday night was no exception. I say this frequently because it is true. Every night is different and we never know what we are going to see and hear. Friday night we were blessed with several encouragers, several mockers and a great conversation at the end. The best line of the night was “I gotta stop with the devil’s lettuce.” [Read more…]

Why Are You Doing This If Every Knee Will Bow?

Ministry Update March 31, 2019

The polite mocker at Missouri State University that typically just smiles as he walks by, stopped and said, “Can I ask you a question?” I said sure. Then he said, “Why are you doing this if every knee will bow?” Then he turned and walked away. Again, he generally just smiles or laughs as he walks by me. But every now and then he asks questions, but he really isn’t interested in the answers. He just wants to mockingly ask a question and walk on, continuing to mock God. [Read more…]

Are You As Evangelistic Minded As A Man In Hell?

Are You As Evangelistic Minded As A Man In Hell?

Today I want to talk to Christians. I have a question for those who have been born-again; for those who have truly repented from their sins and surrendered their life to Jesus Christ. Yes, I’m speaking to those who are followers of Jesus Christ our Lord. The question is: are you as evangelistic minded as a man in Hell? [Read more…]

Encouraging Lunch Hour

Ministry Update March 3, 2019

Some days street witnessing are tough and other times are a pure joy. Wednesday at Missouri State University was a very encouraging lunch hour. Thank God, 25 students took New Testaments. That would have been encouraging enough on its own, but while I was bringing a message, one student just said “Hello” and he seemed very sincere. He wasn’t mocking or trying to hinder the Gospel going forth. I took it as an encouragement.  [Read more…]

Christ Is A Great Savior

Christ Is A Great Savior

John Newton, the man who wrote the wonderful hymn Amazing Grace, also stated: Although my memory’s fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior. I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. I am a great sinner that has been saved by the grace of God and my salvation is found in Jesus alone. Christ is a great Savior and He is my Lord and Savior.  [Read more…]

Deaf Ears

Ministry Update September 23, 2018

Last week was an encouraging, you might even say fun week of evangelizing. There were several conversations, I handed out Gospel tracts and invited people to my church. This Wednesday at MSU was not that way. One student sat and listened to part of the message, but I also had two mockers. One mouthed off something and kept walking (I call these student’s drive-by mockers) and the other mocker didn’t say a single word. He just took several pictures from different angles, but that was it. Sadly, the majority just walked by and appeared apathetic. It was one of those days where it appeared the message of the Gospel fell on deaf ears.  [Read more…]

Sin Means To Miss The Mark

Ministry Update September 9, 2018

On Wednesday at Missouri State University I couldn’t get a permit for my usual spot. So I open-air preached at Strong Hall. I like Strong Hall, it was the first spot I witnessed at when I started witnessing at MSU around seven years ago. Toward the end of the message, a young woman stopped to listen and then she came over to talk afterwards. She studies Hebrew at the university and she said the Greek word for sin means to miss the mark. To that I said a hearty Amen!   [Read more…]
