The Lord keeps impressing upon me the urgency and necessity of preaching the glorious Gospel. Why? Because Heaven is real and eternal punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone is real. Last week a student at MSU yelled as he walked by me “Stop giving Christians a bad name.” I don’t know if the young man is a professing Christian or maybe an atheist that grew up in a Christian home, but I’ve been thinking about his comment. Friday night was full of noise! Noise! Noise! No, I’m not talking about our little 37 watt amplifiers. I’m talking about the motorcyclists revving their engines and cranking their stereo’s up. Several cars and trucks revved their engines too. It was very noisy downtown. I understand that lost people don’t like hearing the Gospel. The Bible says it is foolishness to those who are perishing. But a lot of this animosity was directed toward us while we were singing hymns. We also heard many hail Satan’s and other derogatory comments. [Read more…]
It’s good to be back home and out witnessing again in downtown Springfield, MO. Aaron and I missed the previous two Fridays and we thank Kelly for coming out both those nights. We were back in our usual witnessing spot and our fellow neighbors didn’t let us down. Several Hail Satan’s were shouted out by people walking by, motorcyclists tried to drown out the preaching and singing with their loud stereos and some people stated that we weren’t witnessing the right way. Brad Super Bowl Sunday
This update is about 100 evangelists from around the country converging on Houston, Texas for Super Bowl weekend and how God answered five months of prayers for the outreach. We believe three people got saved, one person was delivered out of a cult, thousands of Gospel tracts were handed out, several Bibles were handed out and many one to one conversations took place. On Wednesday Aaron and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood. There were several cars there when we got there. One lady leaving the shopping center next door yelled at me while I was bringing a message. She was our one mocker. I really couldn’t hear her very well, but I think she was saying that I was stupid because they don’t perform abortions at Planned Parenthood in Springfield. I told her they do give women the morning after pill and they refer them to St. Louis or Kansas City where abortions are performed. (Planned Parenthood performed abortions in Springfield 25 years ago and they are pushing to start doing them here again. God forbid! May it not be so.). [Read more…]
After Brian brought a message I preached after him. While I was on the box, Tim came up and asked Brian a ton of questions. I think he talked for 30 to 40 minutes. But one of his questions was why God doesn’t strike him dead when he curses God and challenges Him to kill him. He cursed God and challenged God to “smite me right now.” Since God didn’t kill him on the spot, Tim believes that proves God isn’t real. He doesn’t realize that it’s by God’s mercy alone that He doesn’t strike Tim dead this very moment. [Read more…]
Friday night Brian, Aaron and I preached downtown and it was a night full of people mocking Jesus. I brought a message from Luke 2 about the birth of Jesus, Brian preached on victory in Jesus and Aaron preached on Matthew 1, where the angel foretells the birth of Jesus and that He will save His people from their sins. I was the first one of our group on the square Friday night and two young people started talking to me. The young woman was asking spiritual questions, but the young man kept making vile and crude remarks. He was so bad she actually pulled him away and walked on. What a way to start the night and really hadn’t even started yet. But that’s how the night went; we had mockers from beginning to end. [Read more…]
How dare you say that I need to repent and put my faith in Jesus. I had my back to the young man at MSU because I was recording part of Aaron’s sermon. The young man had earlier told me that we were hurting our own cause. I said why is that and he replied because Jesus always developed a personal relationship with people. [Read more…]
